Whats Amazing Is If You Look At That Black Track The Windows Go Into, There Really Isn't A Whole Lot To A Highrise Other Than The Concrete And The Window! Almost So Simple In A Complicated Somewhat Cautious Way!!

Please don't paint the concrete white. The naked concrete with those green windows looks awesome.

I wish the balcony railings were glass, it would make for an interesting contrast is depth perception at each level. Concrete underside, glass balcony rail, green windows, concrete underside, fantastic...

I figured out how to view these in a proper automatic slideshow sequence.. by default it shows the most recent first so it goes backward in time! Anyway, to view it properly, first go to the slideshow page:

Change the Sort Results by to "In Ascending Order".

Select the Aqua Building on the right and then click "Start Slideshow".

You may have to click "Start Show" again to get them switching automatically.

As the Lakeshore East Community Relations Director I'd like to provide a Village Market update. The Village Market, which will offer a host of retail amenities, will be situated on the southwestern edge of the community just north of 340 on The Park. There has been a lot of anticipation by the residents as well as Magellan Development for the official ground breaking. The recent delays are due to some architectural changes that we feel will benefit the Village Market and our community. Once the new plans are approved by the City Council and Planning Department we expect an immediate ground breaking. We are very confident of a spring 2008 ground breaking with an expected 12 month build out.

We are delighted that a Treasure Island Grocery Store and a well known ice cream chain are confirmed retailers and are excited to report that a nationally respected day care center is also very interested in the space. The Village Market will span over 100,000 square feet and will be a place for residents and neighbors to shop, dine, relax and socialize. An underground parking garage and potential for drive up services are also in the plans.

The spectacular Lakeshore East scale model including the addition of the Village Market has been moved to the new Sales and Design Gallery located in the retail space of The Regatta at 430 E. Waterside Drive. I encourage you to stop in, meet with me and take a look at the design and lay out of the Village Market.

I stopped by the Sales Center this afternoon, no pictures though.

The updated site model looks really good, and as my previous posting stated, the model for the final version of the Village Market Center has now been added. The real estate ringing the park is now largely filled in on the site model as it now has the aforementioned Market Center, as well as the Parkhomes that will be South and West of the Lancaster. The Tides and Aqua models are of course in place as well. The total project really looks good.

As mentioned, I did not take any photos. You can see a few shots of portions of the old site model from the Wacker Drive Center, on the Columbian Model and Exhibit Works website, click on the "site models" link. http://www.cmew.biz/Models_files/frame.htm

A partial floorplan of the Parkhomes is presently under construction and from the looks of it, will be completed within 30 days-a new reason to stop back.

The new Sales Center looks great and if you're in the area, it's worth stopping by. The standard level finishes and appliances for Aqua are quite impressive and to my knowledge would have been considered upgrades at some other LSE buildings. Additionally, the choices available for upgrading further are more extensive than I've seen in any other LSE building.

I like the mention of an ice cream chain... I'm guessing Cold Stone, since the closest ones are up on Ontario in River North and down on Halsted in University Village. It could also be Oberweis, which only has one Chicago location in Wicker Park (I really hope the Wicker Parkers go to Margie's, which is cheaper and infinitely better).

I didn't see any drive-thru facilities on the Village Market Center model. The Shoreham has a drive-thru located in the first floor of the parking garage for it's in-house Fifth Third Bank. This location makes it quite low profile.

I'm with you ardecila on the speculation of Cold Stone. I remember reading somewhere last Summer that Cold Stone was looking for a franchisee for a new LSE store.

Speaking of ice cream, are there any freaking Dairy Queens around here? I get massive cravings for their delicious cool treats and need to satiate my desires.

Rumor has it that there is DQ somewhere hidden in the Pedway...
