And there is the debate between storeys, floors, levels.

And then there is the debate between how fair it is to measure a building from street level and NOT ground level (as in the Sears Tower, which actually has a GROUND floor that is below the raised street. ... There are many Vancouver buildings like this also).

The debate doesn't go on. the developer has set 61 stories, there will only be 61 stories, no more, no less. What I'm hopinh for is that the fins will be extended to their original length, brining the building over 200m, but that ain't likely to happen.

There is no "hidden" 62nd floor. There is no ground floor beneath street level, just parking, lots of parking. Just because you hope for it doesn't mean it is real, especially when a man who is fairly high on the pecking order say's it isn't.

The debate doesn't go on.

The only real argument is over whether the first/second floor count as one floor or not, and the developer has already set them as 2 floors.

Curious why they left the telephone poles standing along Alberni from Shangri-La almost to Denman. With Shangri-La and all the other condo towers stretching down almost to Denman, I find it interesting the city never bothered to bury those lines along Alberni.

Thery're not a problem or hazard, just seems those lines should be invisible considering the upscaleness of thoses condo towers.

Having telephone poles across the street from a $ 250 million Shangri-La just doesn't seem, well, "correct"?

It's indeed odd that they have left those poles.

Also, the sidewalk kind of disappears at Cardero (north side) and turns into a gravel path for a block. It's almost like this street was an afterthought.

What are the poles going to though, cuz none of the new condos take power from them, maybe some of it has to do with construction, cuz I know they've got a bunch running down to pender where all that construction is goin on.
