Hopefully, they are removing the backdrops from the storefront windows, to restore a street-side view into the interior - one of the great & radical aspects of Sullivan's original was how it let you gaze into the store from the sidewalk, ala Sister Carrie, through those great panes of iron-framed glass.

But perhaps we should move this CPS discussion out of the boom rundown & into the general developments thread?

^ The plans you are referring to were shot down, modified slightly, and then accepted. So yes, the Farwell facade will be coming down and rebuilt, essentially as shown on the website.

Nice update Cbautz!

The CBOT looks super dark and brooding in that picture down Lasalle. 300N. is really going to help extend that already great canyon further north!

Also I believe those two unidentified projects you took pictures of would be 1. Silver Tower and 2. Superior 110. Or is it the other way around. Correct me if I am wrong guys...

I didn't get an answer from the forum here, so i asked around and heard that Parkview East will be on hold until 2009 because the city is trying to stagger the delivery of units. Anyone want to confirm this?

I don't believe that the city has any authority on this matter. I heard a rumor that the developer was "thinking" about "possibly" increasing the heignt of the next tower, but we'll see.
