I'd hope that they would put something up other than the generic box structure.

Optima had problems too.

The allure of a signature tower announcing Surrey's arrival as a major city is very attractive.

I find Central City to be Surrey's signature tower. It is one of my favourite buildings period and I feel is already the symbol of Surrey. Surrey doesn't need a super-tall but rather much needed infill.

The ghosts will haunt you at night.

Looks like a pretty auto centric development to me. Revolutionary!

yeah i heard a while back it was going to be wal-mart - probably a super walmart

one of the other stores will be Army & Navy - they owned a lot of that land and sold some off to costco and area

SpongeG · #**153** Posted **Dec 25, 2007, 12:55 AM**

theres also a development planned for where that old duck in used to be - i think it will be residential with small towers - they wanna take advantage of the waterfrontage

I just wanted to note that four cranes are now up in Surrey. Two for Infinity, one for D'cor and one for Ultra. Infinity tower #2 is at street level while tower #3, D'cor and Ultra are basically just pits.

giallo · #**155** Posted **Dec 31, 2007, 2:06 AM**

Nice. Not only are these projects much needed for the area, but they have decent designs as well.

The crane up at the Urban Village site is not for Ultra, it is up for Agenda and Ellement which are the first two phases on the site. The Ultra site is just being cleared right now. Keep your eye out for some big news with that developments future phases. Its going to create some major buzz around here and in the marketplace.

CC420 · #**157** Posted **Dec 31, 2007, 10:55 PM**

Are Agenda and Element highrises, midrises or lowrises? The crane to me appears to be a highrise crane. Although that is from a perspective of being a few blocks away and partially blocked by trees.

Care to elaborate pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase.

Height increase?

More towers?

raggedy13 · #**159** Posted **Jan 1, 2008, 8:29 PM**

^Maybe it has something to do with that 50 storey tower somebody mentioned a little while back (was it Volksboi himself?).

Volksboi · #**160** Posted **Jan 2, 2008, 12:22 AM**

Agenda ( 135 unit lowrise ) and Element ( 71 Unit lowrise ) and yes this means more towers for the site
