It certainly looks like there's more activity at the site than earlier in the year.

I wonder if they eventually managed to line up all the financing they need for this one.

It appears that the front mega-columns have been reduced in size a bit with the start of the hotel floors. Possibly because six columns facing Wacker have transitioned into eight?
Love the views from above, both Steely Dan and Solar Wind! Harryc, your pics make it seem like we are actually inside!

Something about that photo at the top of the page... the frame just looks so sinister to me.

Is this bracing between WVT and the building to the west (Lasalle-Wacker?) a permanent structure?

EDIT: Never mind, I see it!

^I believe that that space is going to eventually be filled with elevators to access the parking portion of the building, but I might be wrong.

^ I'm thinkin' it houses the West exit stair that does service the parking. It would open at the ground floor as "exit-only" directly to Wacker.

Dec 17 - Curtain Wall

Is this the right term ? or is this cladding ? -- details of the rails to hang straight lines over the slanted ramps.

The actual "curtain wall" will probably "hang" off of those struts. . .

Harry, I'd say the best term in this case is "Secondary Structure" (for later use by the curtainwall).

Those are the "curtain rods" for the curtain wall

I wonder if some smartass model maker put that car like that in there? If I did stuff like that I would include silly little touches that could easily be passed off as coincidence or accident but make people go "huh?" for a second when they see it.

Check out the image in colemonkee's post a few posts above yours, and you'll see what appears to be a model of a lowrider hopping in front of Waterview.

LOL, I was going to make a mention that somebody entered that one in "Pimp my model," but I thought someone had mentioned it before.
