Nice shot Steely.
The Clark street side has changed over to a different column pattern, and it looks flat all the way across. I'd say the garage is done.

Are those large solid concrete areas equivalent to the diagonal bracing you'd get in a steel building - to give lateral rigidity to the structure?

My understanding was that there was going to be a restaurant (a "wintergarden lounge" or "sunset promenade") overlooking the river on the mezzanine/2floor...yet there does not appear to be room anything there (no depth - looks like the garage ramp is about 10 - 20 feet behind the facade, leaving no room for anything like a restaurant). Any thoughts?

Well, resturants don't need views to be classy. Million dollar paintings make you forget about the outside. That 10-20 feet is plenty for a standing room
waiting area and it provides space for smokers outside with a view.

How high are the to structures next to this project? Looks like it will be awhile before this tower passes them and become visible from all points.

The LaSalle-Wacker building to the immediate west of the tower (ie, the right, as you are looking at Waterview from the north/front) is about 512', the Transportation building just behind the tower is about 330', and the United building to the immediate east of the building is about 668'. This is from memory, but the exact heights can be found on emporis.

I don't remember the height and I'm not going to look it up, but I remember that Waterview is almost exactly (within a few feet) double it. Thus, 512' sounds right to me.

Its simply beautiful how this building adds new floors on a regular basis! I love vieving the daily progress of this tower, mostly made possible by SSP's amazing team of dedicated photographers!

I think we will see the lower facade being hung soon, as well as more and more new hotel floors appear on a weekly basis!
