^It's beginning to look a bit like a David Hovey building with those orange balconies. . .

I really think that Parkview's park is going to be stunning when all the projects around it are done, especially if East ends up being 600'. I went looking for the date when it would be finished and open. I didn't find the date, but I did find these renders from Hargreaves Associates of the park.
Have these been posted before? I don't remember seeing them.

^ Yeah, the park design is really nice, and the topography changes will make it very interesting to occupy.

The plan looks like the front elevation of the Spertus Institute.

^ holy cow! had no idea that whole* thing is gonna be a garden/park! very cool. I'm so used to the entire area west of navy pier being a construction zone. Its gonna be pretty weird/nice when all construction is done (in a million years)

Funny, I thought the same thing. Have they said when the park will be open?

I don't know if it's the final architecture or not, but I like that rounded section of Parkview East with the vertical lines, facing the park.

Great maps, MrDowntown!

Thought I'd add some input to help you make it ever more up-to-date:

SW corner of Ohio and Franklin is no longer a lot - it's the location of Silver Tower, currently under construction.

NE corner of Grand and Franklin is now occupied by a stand-alone Chase bank branch w/drive-thru.

SW corner of Illinois and Franklin is not a public lot - it's owned by the church directly west of it.

SE corner of Kinzie and Wells has a proposal for it, but it is currently an active surface lot. Likewise the lot on the NW corner of Huron and Clark has a proposal, but is currently an active lot. The lot on the NE corner of Chicago and Lasalle is also empty (could be a parking lot if they took down the fence), and as far as I know has no proposal even though it's not actively being used for anything.

The McDonald's lot between Ohio and Ontario east of Lasalle should probably be included in your yellow-colored spots map, as should the parking on the west portion of the block with the Hard Rock Cafe at Ontario and Clark. Also, the SW corner of Huron and LaSalle is auxillary parking. And the lot on the NW corner of Grand and Lasalle could be parking if the fence was taken down. Also, there are auxillary lots on the SW corner of Grand and Orleans and in the middle of the block between Huron and Erie on the west side of Orleans.

The auxillary garage structure attached to the former Mongomery Ward's building on Chicago between Kingsbury and Larabee should probably not be colored yellow unless you're also going to color yellow all the setback space around the tower.

Nice photos, Cbautz.

I noticed you took one of the Elysian, so I took the liberty of posting your photo over in the Elysian's thread to "bump" it.

It's a shame that the River North hotel could have had the same flair in the building design that it does for the roof. ala Aqua.

^ So funny, I was just thinking how much better it would look it they could just kill the roof.

It seems so arbitrary and pointless, has nothing to do with the rest of the design, and isn't executed very well anyway.

River North Marriot

I like the top - from the 17th floor it looks good.
I see a railing for an outside area, and a good use of top floors for some spectacular areas.

River North Marriott Suites

Harrys last picture show how god awful this thing is. I agree the curve looks like an after thought.
