Improving the HSR. Simple ridership growth plan.

My plan for reviving the HSR in the short term with simple improvments. Let me know what you think.

HSR RIDERSHIP GROWTH PLAN

PLANNING TO INCREASE HSR RIDERSHIP TO OVER 100,000 DAILY RIDERS.

NEW SEVEN DAY A WEEK FREQUENT SERVICE ZONES. THE FOLLOWING ROUTES WILL OFFER BUS SERVICE EVERY 15MIN OR LESS SEVEN DAYS A WEEK FROM MORNING TILL ATLEAST 10PM, WITH SERVICE EVERY 30 MIN OR LESS DURING LATE NIGHT HOURS.

1 KING/10 BEELINE

2 BARTON

5B/52 DUNDAS

55 STONEY CREEK LOCAL

25 UPPER WENTWORTH

27 UPPER JAMES

43 STONE CHURCH

NEW COMMUTER EXPRESS BUS ROUTES FROM EACH AREA OF HAMILTON.

10 BEELINE
Full service seven days a week.

DUNDAS EXPRESS
New commuter express service from Dundas to Downtown Hamilton.

ANCASTER MEADOWLANDS EXPRESS
New commuter express service from Ancaster and the Meadowlands area to Downtown Hamilton and McMaster. Including PARK AND RIDE at the Meadowlands.

SOUTH STONEY CREEK EXPRESS
New commuter express service from the Valley Park area of Stoney Creek to downtown Hamilton and McMaster.

SOUTH EAST MOUNTAIN LIMERIDGE EXPRESS
New commuter express service from the south east neighbourhoods and Limeridge Mall to Downtown Hamilton and McMaster. Including PARK AND RIDE at Limeridge Mall.

SOUTH WEST MOUNTAIN EXPRESS
New commuter experss service from the south west mountain neighbourhoods to Downtown Hamilton and McMaster.

NEW NIGHT OWL SERVICE
All service will operate once an hour, with additional service on weekend evenings.

1 KING. 24 hour service seven days a week.

2 BARON. 24 hour service seven days a week.

27 UPPER JAMES. 24 hour service seven days a week.

24 UPPER SHERMAN. 24 hour service seven days a week.

33 SANATORIUM. 24 hour service seven days a week from downtown to Mohawk College only.

24 hour service on the routes you mentioned is something I can see in the distant (ok, very distant) future. It would definitely work well on the King and Barton. Not sure if it would be worth it for the 33 or 24.

And it's the 35 College that goes to Mohawk... which coinsidently turns into the 27 Upper James.

There are some good ideas, but most don't seem feasible esp a 24hr 24 Upp Sherman and 33 Sanatorium.

Why would people need 24 hr service to Mohawk if it's closed? Maybe extending hours of op til like 3am... but not 24hr.

Think we'll get 24 hrs bus services on some routes like the B-Line within 5 years?

Possibly. It's hard to say, the HSR is changing very erratically now.
