The rezoning for 999 Seymour (@ Nelson) is before City Council next week. The podium is 5 storeys and includes 3 or 4 half floors of office space.
The site is constrained by the same view cone as Freesia, H+H, 1022 Seymour, Sutton Place, etc.

BTW - anyone know about the mid-rise project shown on the Kripps Pharmacy site in the last rendering?

I hope those are renderings of only the massing of each tower. The cylinder- shaped tower is fugly.

The cylinder tower is already there, its just on the corner that they're building.

This tower is at Seymour & Nelson. Kripps was at Granville & Nelson.

Aww man! There are already WAY too many projects on Seymour which are at similar stages of development. It's beginning to impact traffic as lanes are closed to accomodate bulldozers and cement trucks. My morning bus ride has already been slowed several times because of it. It wouldn't normally be so bad but since Granville is now closed to bus traffic, Seymour is doing double-duty with traffic. Now condo projects are all up and down Seymour. I wonder of the city foresaw the bottleneck this will cause.

^ Theres actually just 2. Elan (which is finishing up - possibly not even requiring a lane of traffic anymore), and the Metro Living project at Nelson. Edit: Forgot Capitol & Vita.

Interesting to see that massing for the Kripps site. It could just be a vision for what the city would like to see built there, in terms of massing.

Landscapers are are installing irrigation system and starting to spread soil on the roof of the Convention Centre.

well also, Capital and the Omni development have lanes closed. theres also vita but i think they only close a lane on smithe. and it seems everytime i drive past elan theres still always a lane blocked.

however, homer street is getting really bad for lanes being closed due to construction.

also, does anyone know when the city is going to put a traffic light up on helmcken and homer?

22 Storey tower, 3 levels u/g parking, 180,000sqft, 230 units, towhouses and CRU at base. Update Summer/08 along with plans for parcel 6C.

Isn't that one of the Concord parcels for which the city was demanding Concord fulfill it's commercial development obligations?

NEFC high level is still under review so no final desicions can be made yet, expect Concord Pacific to make some deals in regards to their commercial obiligation, they are not interested in commercial development/mangement. I expect maybe a trade off with a company like Tri-Power. Either way I expect that area to look very differnt within 5 years.

That's the old Fido site - no mention yet on the forum as to what is planned.

I saw a budget sign on the fencing that has been put up.......I would put down money it gets paved over and is used for yet MORE Budget Car/Truck Rental parking....
