Ok Just a few changes to make here.
The buildings in the RED are mistakes or just out of date.

Number 6 is the same as Number 4. Viperlord told us that the 40-story tower his uncle was talking was the Social Hall Tower. LOL


Number 10 Will be Tower 5 at CCC standing at 265 feet with 20 floors

Number 17 will be down sized to about 6-stories instead of 14-stories.

GATEWAY HYATT PLACE HOTEL PLANNED DEVELOPMENT

LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 55 NORTH 400 WEST

The Salt Lake City Planning Division is reviewing a Planned Development application from the Boyer Company requesting planned development approval to allow the construction of the Gateway Hyatt Place Hotel located at the north end of the Gateway Mall at approximately 55 North 400 West. The hotel is proposed to be seven (7) stories tall and include approximately 128 rooms. All new construction in the Gateway Mixed-use (G-MU) Zoning District requires planned development approval from the Planning Commission.



As part of our review of this petition, the Planning Staff will hold a Public Open House to take public comment. You are invited to attend the Public Open House to be held:

The highrise diagram page under the cities portion of this website has a lot of inaccuracies and is missing a lot of highrises. The following is a list of inaccuracies and highrises not listed:

1. the One Utah Center is shown too short(or the Wells Fargo Center is shown too tall)

2. The Gateway Tower West seems to be shown too tall.

3. The twin American Towers (25 story residential towers between 2nd & 3rd south and between main & west temple) are not shown.

4. The 17? story white hotel north of the American Towers is not shown.

5. The 14? story bank building on the ne corner of 300 s. and w. temple. is not shown.

6. The 14 story First Interstate Bank building on nw corner of 200s. & main. is not shown.

7. The two 14 story office buildings on the east corners of 200s. & State. are not shown.

8. The two 14 story office buildings on 200s. and about 300 e. are not shown.

9. The 14? story HK? tan brick highrise on about 100s. and 400 or 500 e. is not shown.

10. The 25? story Grand America Hotel is not shown.

11. The 14? story office building on NE corner of 300s. and State. is not shown.

12. The 14 story 1970's bank highrise on the SW corner of 300s. and Main. is not shown.

There sure are a lot of 14 stories. Probably something about not ending with 13 as an unlucky number.

13. The 12 or 14 story hotel on the NW corner of 200s. and S. Temple. is not shown.

15. The City & County Building is not shown.

16. The Boston & Newhouse buildings are not shown.

Then, we need to add the new highrises.

It seems like this part of the web page representing SLC has been neglected. Let's represent! (I know, I know, my login name is Orlando. I'm a SLC native, though)

Good idea Future Mayor, You know I'm thinking we ought to at least get the e-mail for input to Boyer. I'm thinking we could respectfully lodge our concern over the deluge of stucco.

I'm with you guys in the battle against stucco! Might be nice to have an exterior that is harmonious with the neighboring Union Pacific and Salt Lake Hardware buildings.

While it's not a full service "Hyatt" I would imagine that Hyatt would want demand something a little bit nicer than stucco. A developer friend of mine used to be part of Boyer but no longer, otherwise I would talk to him about it.

Yes WASDEN, My sentiments exactly. If they designed a Hotel in the same style as the Depot it would be a tremendous plus for the City and Gateway. I'm going to find out tomorrow what the e-mail contact is for Boyer. I know a lot of us would like to express our thanks for their contributions, but also our concern over the stucco issue.

I can't believe it. The Salt Lake Hyatt is 7 stories. Salt Lake will have the distinction of having the shortest Hyatt in the world. By the way, it will be on the north side of the viaduct, maybe in that parking lot south of the high school.

Of course, this is not a Hyatt Regency. Hyatt also is getting into the different types of Hotels in the same way that Marriott has. Courtyard, Fairfield, etc.

I would venture to guess that this is Hyatt's way of testing the market. I wouldn't be surprised that in the next 10 years Hyatt opens a Hyatt Regency in the city.

Here is an image of the proposed social hall towers that were proposed during the mid 90's, but were never built because of American Stores building us our largest highrise(currently the Wells Fargo Highrise) and then deciding to vacate slc for Boise and leaving us with a big white elephant and two highrise proposals to be placed on the shelf(222s. main & social hall towers))



I hope this image turns out. It's too bad these weren't built. Although, they are a little bit too all over the place.

I have heard from reliable sources that the Hyatt was to be south of the North Temple Viaduct, on the Gateway parking lot. We are planning the new North Temple Viaduct/hub and its fairly important that I know.

Where did you here that it was north of the viaduct.

I had this problem a month of so ago and delts helped me do it. So here it is

Recipe
1. Place arrow directly over photo and right click
a long list of items will appear
left click onto item entitled 'properties'
when properties screen appears, left click onto URL/Address(note,sometimes you will need to click several times until the URL is completely highlighted) when your URL is completely highlighted, then right click over the highlighted URL/Address. A list will appear and you will left click on the copy item of the list. You have now copied that photo. Move arrow to the bottom of Properties box if desired and click OK, this will close the box and you will be ready to transfer your pic to the SSL thread.

OKAY, so now I'm over here in this box and I'm going to place one of your pics onto this message thread post #2627.

Place your bar where you wish your photo to be located in the SSP forum message box and left click. Now left click on the little photo icon at the top, (tool-bar) of this SSP forum message box. A script prompt box will appear on your screen. Place your arrow in the blank bar of that script box and right click. A list will appear and you will left click the paste item on that list. Now click OK in the right hand corner of same box and VOILA you have placed your photo.



Hopefully that makes sense. It takes some practice.

where did you hear that it is north of the Viaduct? 55 North and 400 West is the adress listed and this is south of the North Temple viaduct. Where there is a current surface parking lot that boyer owns.
