Having these towers plus the IHC campus buildings will give Murray a littile skyline. In fact it already kind of has one.

Sure does seem like they're dragging their feet with the HP tower- surprise.

Maybe this new tower at the CCC (if its commercial office) will give 'em some incentive to have their office space hit the market first!

I think on old buildings it looks cool. Newer, eh, but definitely like it on the older buildings -- at least the warehouse ones, or on the back of some of those brick buildings that don't have as much detail away from their front facade (like some of the Main Street buildings).

Yeah I agree with you Comrade it looks good on the older warehouse type buildings and I love that alley way behind main from 300 S to 400 S. As well as that pit just off of Exchange place. I think it adds some character. ... Certain tags are lame though. Like the one done on the Library was stupid because it was just a sloppy tag that everyone knew would be taken down.

There is little that infuriates me more that seeing graffiti around our city.
Aside from everything you see downtown, the Sandy TRAX line is especially bad. South of the Ballpark station, every building, fence, post and wall, basically any surface that will hold paint is covered in graffiti.

As a property owner, I would have no problem shooting someone on sight if I caught them vandalizing my property that way.

The meeting was the Planning Commission's first regarding the project, known as Park City Heights. It is situated near the southwest corner of Quinn's Junction, well off U.S. 40 and S.R. 248. The developers want to annex 257 acres of land into the city and then build 303 units in a mix of regularly priced houses and restricted affordable housing.

This is standard after a big housing boom.... even though the residential construction is down the commercial construction is skyrocketing to catch up with all of the population growth (~500,000 since 2000)

Our job growth is still between 3.5%-4% which leads the nation, those losing their jobs in the residential sector or just transitioning to the commercial area...

Right on Wasatch, and it isn't that the experts hadn't predicted this exact scenario for quite some time now. Provo/Orem Metro experienced a 5 percent growth rate this past July,2006 to July,2007. And you're right about commercial development right now. It's going crazy here in Northern Utah Valley.

Condo development eyed for historic Sandy neighborhood

KUHRE SQUARE is the first mixed-use project for historic Sandy since the city created a master plan for the neighborhood last year. The area runs from 8400 South to 9000 South and from State Street to 700 East.

Ivie, co-owner of Sandy-based IDC Real Estate Group, was attracted to the area because of its historic flavor and proximity to the 9000 S. 165 East light-rail station.

While not the biggest project in the Valley, this is a huge step in the right direction for Sandy. Again, another positive outcome in the continuing growth around TRAX. Big props to the developer for choice of materials and historical design elements.
