it took this thing forever just to start construction from when it was first announced, and it seems to be sticking with that super slow strategy now during construction. estimated completion: Nov 2126

Maybe the labor has been diverted to finishing up the below grade levels (which we all know seem to take forever). It seems like it wouldn't be a problem to have one crew working on the highrise part while another works on below grade, but...maybe?

I think this building is getting the reputation as the Clare. It started of slow, but before you know it.......it will be at the th floor. I say give it about 2 more months and we won't be disappointed.

This building was announced years ago and there are still raker beams at the site. Now this is uncharacteristicly slow for Chicago.

Good lord people, settle down, why does everyone freak out every time a building hits a slow spot. They are building the complex lower floors, there are many more weird things like rooms with high floor heights, kitchens, different elevator shafts, plus all of it is beefier than the top of the tower because it has to support the most weight. This isn't that weird, stop talking about it.

Victor and I looked at the blueprints today, and this building will be only 685'-8" tall to the tips of the spires (673'-11.5" to the roof). Sorry for the bad news. What happens now, will the thread be deleted?

nah, we'll leave it be, it's close enough to 700' at 686'.

I enjoy this thread, I think this building is still important because it is going to be making the largest impact out of all the buildings in the JHC end of the Skyline. It is also going to really draw energy further down Rush st. from the bar scene up there.

Thats a little dissapointing, but 700' is just a number and at 686' you wont even be able to tell the difference anyway. I think the building is ok, it just looks like a psuedo park tower, which isnt the greatest either.

yeah I dont see what the problem is with this building. Its a fine design for its location. 700 feet, or I'm sorry 686, seems like a good size here. It is strange how slow it is compared to other projects though.

Keep the thread, I look forward to updates on this building. And the design deserves defending. It adds visual diversity and will likely be well-executed.

agreed about the height. however, I'm optimistic it will look better than park. I think park is pretty boring, but this could look good if there are enough contrasting elements in the building
