The Morgan Stanley Building (1717 Dyckman) & The Smith Barney Building (1919 Dyckman). The two buildings are connected in between at the bottom with a glass covered plaza. Smith Barney and its parent company Morgan Stanley, bought the buildings in 1994. A 2 year renovation took place which resulted in new facades, interiors, elevators, lobbies, the glass plaza, and a 1 floor undergrond retail concourse (which prior, housed mechanical equipment). Awesome. On post #242 in the first shot there's a blank building with a "hanging" side supported by columns and cross-beams. What building is that? I like it.

Yeah, just a little architecture to break up the boxes. I haven't really touched upon that building let alone that area enough to give it much detail. As time goes on, I'll circle back to it and give it a name.

Mo- Thanks, I have fun detailing the rooftops.

Tanster- Thank you, I like to mix it up a bit. I still think I need some more old buildings in the that part of the city though.

austin-Thanks, I hope so.

Exclamation The News Corporation Building

(1818 Dyckman Avenue): The News Corporation Building. 1818 Dyckman was constructed in 1965 to hold the News Corporation Hutchinson Branch. In addition to News Corporation offices, the building also houses many studios for the FOX News Network, Hutchinson's 4 local news stations, 7 radio stations, and other TV studios.

At the bottom of the building facing Dyckman Avenue is a sculpture of the globe, and a media ticker at the entrance. Facing 20th Street there is a media wall. On the rooftop of the "wedding cake" section is the outdoor studio where portions of "Good Morning Hutchinson" are filmed daily. There is also an underground concourse which links the building with 1919, 1717, 2020 Dyckman, and the Dyckman Avenue Mall.

Exclamation

Thank you everyone for the comments.

Did a lot of work today (especially on the TRI Center and Hutchinson Central Station), but I'm going to save the big update for tomorrow. Until then I'll leave you with a teaser shot of the TRI Center (their global HQ) from Carnagie Avenue.

The North end of the Carnagie Avenue Underpass, with the Hutchinson Central Station train ticker (states times of depatures, arrivals, delays, etc...). The TRI Building in the middle.

Update tomorrow afternoon.

Question

Well for the most part I know what I'm building infastructure wise as well as in the boroughs, but is there anything you feel the city is lacking so far, or is there anything you would like me to build?

I appreciate all the good commentary, but don't hesitate to critique what you don't like, or say what you feel would make the city better.

2 weeks down, 2 to go. This break is speeding.
