Rest of the glass??

Looks like the piece of curtainwall that they put up was only for testing purposes so far. There is no more glass on the site that I can see (went by there Friday afternoon and this morning at about 4:15am).

Does anyone know when they are going to start putting up glass for real? They have ductwork already installed in the level below the lobby and that galvanized metal will start to tarnish if exposed to the weather for too long.

They've got the steel fireproofing done to about floor 5 and they have fire sprinkler mains installed already in the lobby level.

I know we have a forum member here who has some knowledge of the project. Perhaps he would be so kind as to post a schedule update if he has the time.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong but am I seeing the tip-tops of the Trump cranes - just above Marina City? If so, I'm putting in a request for pics from this view showing both 300 and TTC going up - I imagine you'd have to take a few steps back as they get taller, but it'd be great if you could!

You are correct. If one is standing on the westbank of the river at the confluence, just out view to the left of that photo, Trump, 300 NLS, and Waterview can all be captured in the same view. Spire will be a wild card here as well, because trump may block the perspective from this location.

Becase of the way the River bends, Trump won't easily be visible until they get above IBM (ie finish the transfer floor).

About a week ago, the core popped into view from where I work at 200 N. LaSalle. I will post a picture sometime soon.

Hedge fund to lease 2 floors at 300 N. LaSalle

By Susan Diesenhouse
6:12 PM CST, November 8, 2007

Harris Alternatives LLC, a Chicago-based hedge fund, has leased 40,703 square feet on floors 52 and 53 at 300 N. LaSalle St. for 10 years. The tenant was represented in the transaction by Stacey Kruger Birndorf, an executive vice president in the Chicago office of the Dallas-based firm Transwestern.

Man, Hines is on a roll with leasing (so is Buck, come to think of it). If this keeps up, maybe they'll pop the top on 200 N. Riverside...

just found these ricardo bofill renderings for a proposed project at 300 N. LaSalle. I think it's safe to assume we're happier with what actually happened on this site...

^ The same team also did a 2000' building proposal for this site (Bofill, DeStefano, and Prime Group). Basically, it was the ugliest supertall proposal I've ever seen in the States. Very glad Chicago waited for the Calatrava and that 300 LaSalle became something else...

I love this building and its location. Right in between two low-rise brick buildings, on the river with the bridges. Another great Chicagoan going up!

Wow, this building is already at a point where it can start making an impact on the skyline. I think this is one of those buildings where you don't realize how much of an impact it will have until it starts getting up there!

Thanks for the pics everyone!
