Why all the Spectator-bashing? It's a sport here equal to CHCH-bashing. Don't like the Spec? Don't buy the Spec...simple as that. It's not like daily newspapers are important to a city's autonomy or economic health anyway. The irony here is that if there were no paper, everyone on this Forum would be begging for one like they're begging for CBC Radio and it's taxpayer supported political agenda. I wonder what the consensus is in Oshawa--where the daily was lost years ago--think folks are happy being stuck with The Star and The Sun? How much do those papers dedicate to issues of "local" concern in Oshawa? How much would they dedicate to Hamilton?

I'm all for discourse and I think web-based outlets like this are great--but why the obsession with bashing mainstream media--you do your thing really well...let them do theirs...and if you don't like, DON'T BUY IT.
