we could do sketchup for a living if we rented our fine piesces of real estate to real companies' websites. Kinda like second life but one that didnt suck so horribly. A company could put its contact frontdesk in a virtual world context to make it more personal, instead of those horrible "contact us" templates.

At least this should be possible if the customer could chat with a virtual employees with our real estate as the background.

Any fine programmers here?

I am taking Business Administration as my major and Economics as my minor. I like economics because it is deeply involved with international business. I plan to be a global company (having properties all around the globe), so that aspect of the course is what swayed me to economics as a minor.

I originally wanted to be an architect, with my mindset at the time thinking I can design buildings and then own them. As I got a little older, I realized architects only design buildings, not own them. So that is when the developer idea came into place. Soon after "The Apprentice" came on air, and after just watching one episode, I knew at that point that I wanted to do exactly what he does.

I share some points. As a kid when I draw the buildings I did it because in my imagination they were profitable - or celebrations of profit.
I visited New York for the first time when I was 14. Epiphany.
I remember visiting the Trump Tower over and over for what it meant, - but I prefered Citicorp Center's atrium next to barnsnnoble.
Then I wanted to become an architect for sure, at 15 back to N.Y., at 16 to London to the AA Summer School.
Now I continue with economics, but the school system kinda sucks here in B.A, even the private I guess I'll just focuss and think long term.

Nice buildings see it looks way better, just add color here and there I love it.

I wish there were more people in my school with that attitude. No one wants to take that risk with me of starting a corporation like that. But this is what they fail to realize. Every company that has ever been founded came with risk in staring it. Merril Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Bear Sterns, all those big shot names were at one time thoughts in someone's head. Some of these kids here have the attitude like they're gonna wake up one day on the executive floor of an office building with $100 million in their bank account. It makes me laugh.

that's why I changed from architecture to economics in business school, owning your own company is the only way to go, i mean getting to the fast-lane.

That's the beauty of being a developer. You make the billions, own the buildings, and can have as much say as you want with regards to what they look like.

The hurtle that needs to be jumped to live that scenerio however is a never ending height. That's why its important to know the key people, make friends with investors and banks, and know the industry.

I had no idea that you where redoing Hutchinson? Well it looks GREATT! That gold and green tower reminds me of that condo tower near the ESB in NYC, Keylife HQ also reminds me of one of those buildings on the Avenue of the Americas, idk which one though.

I'm not too crazy bout the green but it is your city

Cant wait to see more, whats Hutchinson's estimated population?

-Yes, that condo tower was based off a building in NYC, but not that one. I'm not sure the name of it, but its two buildings South of the Verizon Building in Midtown Manhattan.
-KeyLife was based off a mixture between the Credit Lyonnis Building, and the Time Life Building.
-Population:
Hutchinson (the city itself)- 2 million
The 8 Boroughs- 7 million
Chamberlin- 1 million
Total Metro Area: 10 million

I want to go to architectural school but I also want to study economy that way I can design my own buildings if I ever own a real estate company. I also want to create an architectural company..

And with your environmental approach and love for hi-rises (sometimes both things are hard to find in the same mind) I can see a succesfull one.

Looking up from Carnegie Avenue.

More of the Carnegie Avenue canyon.

Street level at Carnegie.

The Citigroup Center: Citigroup bought the site in 1992. They hired a construction company to tear town a 19th Centry lowrise to make way for the main tower. Citigroup renovated both inside and out of 1565 Carnegie which was built in 1977. By 1994 the new tower was completed, and both buildings were connected at the bottom. Citigroup stayed in the new tower, while Citibank (the banking branch) was put in the newly renovated building. The logos of both the banking branch and the parent company were placed on the building in 1995. Citigroup had the renovated building prepared to build higher incase they wanted to move their offices in Chamberlin to Hutchinson, hence the glass wall, beams, and the exposed core ontop. Today both the logos ontop of the buildings are out of date, yet still remain. Citi sold the red umbrella logo to Travelers, and the Citibank logo is no longer used by the company. Plans are set to remove them.

wow, it's as if it had come to life. Now Chamberlin-Hutchinson is on top the list. I reallly like the model of two different cities and I'm borrowing that if you don't mind.

^^^i love all the infrastructure Dac has done. it's more advanced than any of the other cities'.

-Sure, you can borrow the two city concept.

-And very true. I would much rather be in debt from trying to start my own company, than commute 2 hours to work and sit in a cubicle everyday for 30 years. Just knowing that I went for it would be rewarding enough.

Yeah, I'll make a map to show where all the infastructure will go once I got a good amount of the city filled in.
