Well that obviously didn't work. So here are the links then

I went downtown today and took some pictures of random things and developments.

I haven't posted images before so hopefully it works.

This is 222 south main. There are some pipes in the ground but thats about it besides the hole.

More of the hole.

The Wells Fargo building. I love it, mostly because of the shape and color.

The courthouse, and I am very happy that they aren't knocking it down

I Guess these are some new condos being built

The new loft addition, I don't think its done yet though.

I did that but it doesn't seem to work for me. Sorry, I feel pretty dumb that I don't know how to or that it doesn't work for me.

Don't feel dumb... In that same post, I used the insert image button for one of your links and it obviously didn't work for me either.

Thanks guys,

I stumbled across the numbers today for the CCC towers, the final minutes from the city planning meeting. Those are updated in my list on page 1. Also, please note that tower 2 will in fact be built in phase 1 now as we projected. So, in a year from now we will have 5 residential towers going up on the zcmi and crossroads blocks (blocks 75 & 76). The minutes also said that foundation permits for the towers and their parking would be sought before the end of 2007. The full permit for both blocks they are aiming for the first quarter of 2008. They are also aiming to have the planning commission review the whole development before the years out as well.

Also part of that height re-alignment was for the main street part of the malls. There will be a 8 story apartment building 104' tall on crossroads block along main street. It will be neighboring the Crandall and Mcintyre building. So that should add some good density on that corner.

Also, something else to consider.....

" In the initial phase of the project, approximately 750 residential units will be built. Most will be in condominium towers along South Temple Street, but some rental properties will be available above the retail shops. Of the total residential units, Cowboy Partners, a Utah-based company, will be constructing approximately 100 condominiums and approximately 110 rental units on the south side of Social Hall Avenue, east of State Street."

last time I read about the social hall block in the city planning commission meetings. It said that Cowboy Partners was to build 50-100 units of apartments, and that the apartment building would be 175 feet tall. it made no mention to the condos in the first phase. So, now I'm wondering, where these condos are going? Will they be building the building on the corner in this first phase afterall?... Anyways...

By this time next year.....
We should have the following u/c on the CCC blocks.

-Tower 1 - 370 feet
-Tower 2 - 255 feet
-Tower 4 - 218 feet
-Tower 6 - 145 feet
-Tower 7 - 145 feet
-8 story residential apartment building on main street above crossroads block..- 104 feet
-Cowboy Partners apartment building above Harmons- 175 feet.

That ought to add some nice density...

Also guys in this upcoming week there will be some information released about one of the "larger" projects in downtown SLC. I will post anything worth mentioning. keep your eyes open.

OKAY Steve, here's what you do assuming it will also work for you.

Recipe
1. Place arrow directly over photo and right click
a long list of items will appear
left click onto item entitled 'properties'
when properties screen appears, left click onto URL/Address(note,sometimes you will need to click several times until the URL is completely highlighted) when your URL is completely highlighted, then right click over the highlighted URL/Address. A list will appear and you will left click on the copy item of the list. You have now copied that photo. Move arrow to the bottom of Properties box if desired and click OK, this will close the box and you will be ready to transfer your pic to the SSL thread.

OKAY, so now I'm over here in this box and I'm going to place one of your pics onto this message thread post #2627.

Place your bar where you wish your photo to be located in the SSP forum message box and left click. Now left click on the little photo icon at the top, (tool-bar) of this SSP forum message box. A script prompt box will appear on your screen. Place your arrow in the blank bar of that script box and right click. A list will appear and you will left click the paste item on that list. Now click OK in the right hand corner of same box and VOILA you have placed your photo.

Thanks again Viper, I gotta say I'm jealous that you get all this info. Do we know any specifics as far as design goes for the tower on Main? I'm excited to know there will be some residential right on main street I think that could help create a little life on Main.

Gee maybe they can put the sky bridge right in to the residential tower, I mean we wouldn't want those residents getting outside of the mall would we!

I can't wait to hear whatever it is you are referring to here ----> "Also guys in this upcoming week there will be some information released about one of the "larger" projects in downtown SLC. I will post anything worth mentioning. keep your eyes open."

Most of my information I have compiled over long periods of time. I try to keep it updated as much as possible.

This image shows the planned 8 story building next to the crandall and mcyntire. The plans that I have seen also show this building there as well.

Also speaking of the plans... They show plazas, seating, tables etc. on the main street area. There are escalators, and elevators located on both sides of the street allowing traffic to get down to street level, or vice versa.

I'm confused.. the 175' tower you mention as Cowboy partners tower is NOT the tall one we saw in the original renderings, is it? Has it been scaled down?

The 175' tower will be located above harmons. I do beleive that it is not the tower on the corner shown in the models.

Hey Stevena07, You're very welcome. I remember how excited I was the first time it worked for me.

Viper, just went over all of your updated info, and thanks loads for all the attentive record upkeep. What a great reference guide to refer people to! I have a couple of questions for you.

I really like these skybridges at Gateway. While I wouldn't reccomend the same design for Main Street, I think they greatly improve the aesthetic appeal of Main at Gateway.

by stevena07

The question is, how set is the developer on this skybridge design pictured below? I'm troubled that someone at this level of the design phase even is pondering something so horrific for such an important placement. Am I right in assuming that this is simply a big misfire and was rejected outright? Also have you heard any continuing buzz on the reclad for the COB, and is there any word of a possible reclad in the works for the Univ.Club Tower,(136 east so. temple.) I'm assuming that the 136 e. so. temple tower needs to be upgraded to meet the current class A list.

..

Just clarifying for everyone again. Cowboy partners has two tours involved in this complex. 1 condominium and 1 apartment complex. They are located above the Harmons on social hall Avenue and on the corner of 200 East and 100 South (this is right next to social hall plaza) The tall building that is on the corner of State and 100 South is being built by the church and is a mixed use, office, residential, and hotel from what has been disclosed so far. Of course plans could change and move. Just wanted to clarify that Cowboy Partners is not involved with anything but residential.

I thought that the tower on the corner of State and 100 S was all Cowboy Partners if not that then a partnership between the church and Cowboy partners, and the housing on the corner of 100 S and 200 E is on top of a Harmons, which is being built by Cowboy Partners.

This was the understanding I had of that block. Can anyone verify this?

I was under the understanding that the taller tower on 1st and state was part of the CCC (and the church) but being partnered with Cowboy partners to build it..

I moved all the CCC talk to the designated forum....

Also, about the information coming up this week about the "larger project" I had hinted about.... I dont know how much new information we will be getting. We will most likely just be finding out what the City is wanting for the project. because it will be the release of an RFP. but with RFP's also comes renderings and more specifics a few months later down the road....

I hate to ask, but what's an RFP?

(sorry)
