Yes, exactly. All glass is wavy. When you have a piece of material like glass that is flexible and spanning 5+ feet, it's going to flex and produce waviness. This meme needs to die.

I don't mind the wavy glass, but I hope that the overall effect won't be too dark.

Harry said there is a backing on the glass in those pictures, so that's why it looks so dark.

Wavy glass or not, I still think this tower will be a stunner.

Firm near deal to move local office to 300 N. LaSalle

By Eddie Baeb and Alby Gallun
Oct. 31, 2007

Boston Consulting Group Inc. is close to a deal to move its Chicago office to the new tower going up at 300 N. LaSalle Street.

Sources say the consulting giant could sign a lease as soon as this week for 100,000 square feet or more, occupying either four or five floors in the building. The firm could lease as much as 125,000 square feet if it takes five floors in the 1.3 million-square-foot tower, which is to open in spring 2009.

Great shots, starting the fireproofing I see! This one is going up a lot like the Comcast Center w/the core going up like 20 floors above the steel.

All pics are very nice, this one is moving FAST now!
Yes, most glass is wavy, I used to design, spec, and deal with glass suppliers for two-dimensional curved vehicle glass, and some distortion is just a reality of the process. I'm sure the parts being used fall within acceptable design tolerances for the profile of a surface. They do inspect each part on a check fixture and reject the bad ones. This is not a precision-ground glass telescope mirror, these are mass produced windows. I can deal with the imperfections. Honestly, the camera makes it look worse than it does when viewed in real life.

Not only does Chicago know how to put up highrise landmarks, but it has also nailed the art of building great background buildings, like this one. Props.

You're referring to The Quaker Oats building and Marina City?

No, 353 N Clark is a background building. Hopefully this one stands out a bit more, especially considering it's in the foreground.

I like the speed that this one is rising at. It is too early to judge the facade. But from the small bit we have seen, I like the color at least.

^^^Well in Solar's shots you can see that the barge is pretty well loaded up with raker beams. Maybe the barge was full?
