Nice shots solarwind.I took almost that same shot of the Tides yesterday down in the park around 1130.What a nice day for photos.Polarizing filters
are fun but you can get tired of them fast.It looks great but unrealistic.I only use the UV filter now.
The bridges are really in full use letting boats in for the winter.

The development was a great idea and will turn out just great, however, the architecture is awful (Tides, Shoreham, Regatta, Lancaster). What a lost opportunity.

So when companies get slammed on rent, how many of them are going to bolt for the burbs?
Then the high vacancies crash the demand for new towers.

Its not horrible. Hopefully Arquitectonica will distract from those towers.

but there are already buildings under construction or on their way to approval. With this in mind, companies might not be so inclined to bolt knowing that more space will be available after a certain amount of time...

i disagree with your assessment of the architecture of LSE. some of it might not be great, and the shoreham flirts dangerously close with awful, but i reserve the word "awful" for outright train-wrecks like grand plaza. besides, i think the tides and the lancaster are actually pretty decent towers, and 340 on the park is a true standout in my opinion. when you start using words like "awful" for buildings such as the lancaster, you dilute the meaning of the word....... or perhaps you actually think that the lancaster is as grotesquely ugly and ill-proportioned as grand plaza?

Just a fun number from playing around with the diagrams.
Pre boom, the height of the 25th tallest in Chicago was 590ft.

With what's U/C and propossed, the 25th tallest will be ~750ft.

Anyone who is frequently west of the city should start watching for the Clare at Water Tower to start making a pretty signifigant impact on the Skyline near the Hancock. Its They are about to pour floor 28 or 29 and it is peaking over the top the 25. E Pearson building. It still has more than 20 floors to go and should really make an impact filling in a bit of the gap between Hancock and Park Tower from the West.

In other words, I'd like to see a skyline shot showing the Clare as soon as it starts making a noticeable difference, so someone get on that!

The city created the high speed traffic on Clark, building the new underpass at Roosevelt.

Read the reports above of last night's Central Station meeting. Don't you see that anyone who dares to question anything a developer proposes is, by definition, a NIMBY?

Curious (because I don't like to guess and I wait until you all declare it U/C).

Several of us took photo of cassions being drilled the last few days. But it wasn't under Construction. What made it under construction? Again it is total ignorance on my part.
