This was on the KSL site--a look at how 222 will fit into the skyline. Not that exciting, but I guess its something...

Yeah you're right, from a distant skyline pic it will be more or less nice infill. However, down at street level on Main, it will be one awesome piece of art. Boy, Tower 1 is going to make an impact on the skyline though, especially from that angle. Oooooooh, and then just think about what those mystery towers will do.

I saw the photos of the skyline post-Key Bank, and there's definately a hole. I think this tower is only going to add to the "two islands" look from this vantage point, but from other angles it's gonna do wonders.

I can't wait to see steel rise. Maybe by next summer we'll see the tinkertoys being assembled?

The CCC will fill in that "hole" when complete, especially from that vantage point.

And if that "mystery" tower really is 450-500', that will be the focal point right in the dead center of that hole.

yeah that creek center tower is pretty awesome but I seem to like this style a little better

I just wish they would add back on those condos cause I think that would be like the perfect location to live downtown. Just blocks away from every bar and club, right across from gallivans, lots of eating options right there, trax at your doorstep. Wow taht would be awesome!

I downloaded a new version of Google Earth yesterday -- I hadn't used the program is months. When I zoomed in on DT SLC, I immediately noticed a very detailed 3-D rendering of the HP tower. It was hard to miss, since few SL buildings have been rendered in this way. It was fun to spin around the building, viewing it from all sides. I appologize for not attempting to capture screen shots, but it's something you really need to experience in Google Earth. Check it out if you're interested.

Drove by the site today (labor day) and while no one was working (being labor day and all) there was a backhoe on the site. I'll bet they start excavation very soon, like tomorrow hopefully.

btw, it looks like activity has finally started at broadway park lofts.

What do you mean no one was working? There were workers working on the demolition for City Creek Center today on Labor Day.

true, I drove by CCC and watched them tear down some of the black bitch and I must admit, there is something pretty cool about destruction. It must be the primal warrior in us that wants to conquer and destroy other people and thier works and then set ourselves up and rulers and kings.

WTF did I just say! man, I need to lay off the fantasy for awhile... after tomorrow when I see Spamalot downtown. I'll have to check the status of 222 S main while I'm there.

Very excited to see this building being built, can't wait to see some construction.
This is going to add alot more vitality to that block of Main Street.

Last I noticed they had continued to demo the asphalt that was there and set up the job trailer and other equipment. I drive passed it everyday on my way to work so I'll pay more attention next time.

222 South Main groundbreaking video.
Here is a short video I put together of the groundbreaking of the 22-story 222 South Main office tower last month. Enjoy.
