Restaurants NOT Recommended

since there is a thread for recommended restaurants I thought maybe there should be a thread where people can tell everyone about the places not to go.

I'll start. Gigi's on davie. bad service and very poor quality of food.

These Asian restaurants crack me up......they completely disregard the health of their customers.

BTW, how many times has the meats section of the T & T's in Chinatown and Metrotown been closed?

i have been told that most restaurants on broadway and kingsway have cockroaches

I was a cook at a dennys and we never had them but i had to sub at the one kingsway once and there were cockroaches all over the place in the kitchen

oh and a friend and I were at Dennys about last month or so and we saw a mouse come out of some werid sealed up door cupboard thing and my friend tells the waiter we saw your friend and the waiter goes "oh the mouse" lol he was like yeah we try to get rid of him one day

I wonder if it's easy to sabotage a restaurant by releasing roaches within the premises. I thought that may be something people may do in the cutthroat restaurant business.

I heard that you can tell a lot about how clean a restaurant is based on the cleanliness of the washroom.

My rule of thumb is that I will stop going to a restaurant if I shit my self twice....works for me.

On a less personal note never go to Burger Haven in New Westminster...Overpriced and over rated with the shitiest burgers and customer service.

The fact that Yaletown Brewing Company is still open is criminal. Summary: overpriced high school cafeteria food.

i wouldn't advise noodle box on West 4th... unless you want pure MSG food. Adding to the fact it's overpriced.

You have to be careful with a lot of Chinese restaurants in Vancouver... or anywhere for that matter. I always choose a restaurant with a lot of people inside. That'll usually guarantee a quick turnaround of produce. There is nothing worse than what will follow after eating three day old chicken on a hot summer day.

I think I know what you mean...happened to me after eating at a take out place on Commercial...my girlfriend was okay though so maybe it was something specific I ordered...

Never eat at the all you can eat sushi restaurant inside Metrotown (near the bay). Service is bad and the food is even worse. Especially those boats that float by at the self serve bar, not one appetizing roll floated by when I was there. The majority of them where falling apart or had a greyish tint to them and just looked half ass. I didn't even try the sashimi and I still left feeling nauseated .

Avoid "All You Can Eat" sushi, anywhere, period.

Generally it's poorer quality to begin with, and sushi should never be about quantity. Lots of these places are generally the type of restaurants who cut corners whenever they can (ie: hygiene/cleanliness).

It wasn't on the list of food establishment closures in 2007.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that cheap Asian restaurants are sometimes dirty. What really stands out to me on that list are the major chains (Blenz, Tim Horton's, Cactus Club, Moxie's, etc.) that had locations shut down for health violations.
