May I answer with a question? Why make it 90 floors? There is no reason. Then you could just be like, "90 floors, why not 91" and there is no point. No, but it sure did cause a ruckus on the Philly threads!

You are absolutely correct though; I think the average Philly resident just views it as a really big building and couldn't even tell you how high it is.

The Empire State Building has 102 floors. Why didn't they make it 100 floors? Those 2 extra floors just really messes up that number.

Everybody has a little bit of "Monk" in them ... its just that the people on this site tend to have a lot more than the average Joe.

I consider solid number ones that end in 0 or 5. It is annoying to me when buildings are 69 floors, 44 floors, 999ft, 499ft. It's more of a personal thing.

All people have those little things that just annoy them. It's not that big of a deal as its being made out to be.

Actually, it only has about 90 floors. Between floors 86 and 101 are just a shaft with a couple of ledges for workers to get outside and into crawl spaces. I've climbed up it. The "floors" are the the landings where the stairs change directions. This is just an FYI post.

How long ago was it that people were claiming that this one ran out of money and the project was in trouble?

Yea, there are probably some people in the Spire thread who think that the only reason why there's progress on this one is because they've decided to build a shorter tower on the current foundation...

Looks like a floor every 5 days or so. Although it is probably wishful thinking to imagine that they will be to the 29th floor (the transfer floor) by the end of the year...maybe they will get to the 22d or 23d floor by then?

well, I mean, they could potentially use what they've already built for a 400' building. I mean, only if they don't get the type of instantaneous sales they were hoping for

Yea, I actually knew that. However, the "official" floor count is 102. I was just using it as an example.

Thats so funny. A couple months ago people were wondering if it would ever come out of the ground at all! But it is great to see.

I really do wish they would hurry up and close on that construction loan though. Would probably make us all feel a little better about this project. Seems to me there is no obvious reason why they haven't still, after all, they are what, about 80% sold by now? Does anyone know?
