just for fun

The original picture was submitted by ambient here :

http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=128533&page=51

I hope you don't mind Ambient, but I altered your image a bit.

By the way, I'm sure there are some things off, but I just wanted to do a quick representation...so don't be too hard on this. If anyone else wants to insert any other buildings like 300 n. la salle and others, feel free.

Uhh Guys, I dunno if you missed this over in the OMP thread but Bvic posted these a while ago:

And bonus (also courtesy of Bvic), massing models of GP4!

Steely, have these been added to the boom rundown yet? They have not yet have they? If not, they probably should be now that an article officially announcing them has been released... That way we can just point people to the list when they want to know what we mean by GP3 and GP4...

Can't wait to see the end result, especially if these are both 100' higher than these plans call for!

No. The new Trib render of GP3 is taller. Check it out. I counted a 9-10 stroy increase...consistant w/ 100'

^^^
I don't think it is, I just counted the floors on each and came up with a low 80's count... So unless they increased the floor height...

I dunno, someone else count each picture...

I mean this image and the other is the same:

I think the elevations are indeed shorter...

I got 76 in the old and 85 in the new. The Podium is the same...3 floors added below the Eastern curve and 6 in the curved portion.

^^^ Yeah, can somebody else try counting? I am too tired, that may be the source of the discrepancy here...

Haha, or we can wait...

Huh, thanks for reposting. I don't know how I missed that aspect of the front elevation earlier, considering it's on the render and the line drawing. I guess I was too busy looking at the overall form.

In any case, that is nice because the building will have very distinctive profiles from GP as well as looking down Roosevelt.

Much like Kingsbury Plaza, 30 E Chestnut is turning out more lovely than I expected. The slimness and the treatment of the facade are great. I also think ten added floors would have been spectacular.

Some building that was recently announced that will be on the plaza next to the AMA. It will be about the same height as the AMA building and completely block the view of the wonderful hole from the south...

^ That would be the Hotel Palomar.

There's also fencing going up around the buildings at 53rd and Cornell in preparation for demolition.

Hooray, its about time, that block has been sitting blighted and abandoned for a few years now. 17-stories in that location will be awesome indeed.

That's a pity, I love the suture, real appropriate for the AMA.

Yet I can't complain this will be another big one within a few blocks of work.

Great render!!! Thanks for your work. Not to be overly critical but shouldn't the Spire twist clockwise instead of counter clockwise?
