Have to agree I am surprised that Tower 3 will pre-sell in the 1st Q of 2008 with the market the way it is. Definite Kuahunahs on Folgelson's part. I wonder if Enterprise Development is out of the last 2 and Jerry is going to develop them on his own? Makes sense I guess Sky55 was his on that block. Picked a great day to announce with the Fed dropping rates and the Dow plowing new records.

Library Tower - There are two colors of brick being used, I think it'll look good.

Astoria Tower - it doesn't look like the tower itself is moving yet, just the retail portion.

I think it will be fun. I plan to be there to show my support just in case some NIMBY douchebags try to complain. We've seen the preliminary designs and so far so good. Also, this is a good opportunity to prod the developer to go a little taller.

Thanks for the S Loop photos, it's fascinating to see an area of Chicago go through a total redefinition, as this one is doing. Is the Astoria tower on hold? And that moving crane visible between 1400 S Mich and Mich Ave Tower II, is that part of the latter project or something else?

Astoria Tower is still going ahead. I saw the base for a crane the other day]

FYI, the Chicago Athletic Association is having a liquidation sale this week. You can purchase almost everything from its club days for reasonable prices. The interior is really nice. Also, go to the 8th floor on the Michigan Ave side and the views are spectacular of the park, lake, and skylines

Does anyone know of the plans to convert from club to hotel? Will they retain most of the interior, etc?

Please pass along the details

I think that's related to the demo for the Glashaus site.

OT... I'd go to that CAA liquidation if I at all could, there'll probably be some great Chicago memorabilia. And at the Arthur Andersen liquidation a few years back, I even got to enjoy watching Buzz Ruttenberg et consortes prowl around the endless art collections...

For those of you looking to voice your support of the Children's Hospital helipad that spend a lot of time in Streeterville and the Gold Coast, be on the look out for Children's Hospital volunteers with clipboards trying to get signatures in support of the helipad. They were just on Loyola Campus today and I signed a letter in support of the helipad. The lady seemed quite surprised that I, a lowly college student, was so aware of the Helipad issue, thanks SSP! She was very grateful for my interest and enthusiastic support and seemed to be having a hard time getting college students to sign the petition.

Anyhow, if you see someone in the Streeterville area canvassing for signatures while wearing Children's Hospital gear, go up to them and sign a letter, I'm sure every signature will help!

^ Yeah I know its a shitty scan but it is wavy architectually with the balconies come out a little (aka Aqua) but to be honest the actual rendering itself is hard to tell when its so small and in B&W but there is definetely some slight waviness to it.
