An alley borders the site on the South, On the West side the clearance is in inches.

Wacker drive ( N Side ) is a 2 level street and most of the stuff comes in from the lower level. Special cement ( bucketed ) and some larger stuff comes in from the North on Clark st ( E Side ) and then backs into the site. Before the core rose and they put a container on it trucks could also come E bound on upper wacker and pull in (NW) and then pull straight out (NE). The traffic tie ups from this and 2 other projects just N of it makes me smile on my way from the El.

I talked to the construction superintendent of the Waterview a while ago and he told me they are going to top out Waterview before Trump tops out... I think this guy was a little nutty.

I think I know who you're talking about, and the person no longer works there.

I don't think Waterview will be topped out until early 2009.

I am sorry if this is a repeat subject/question...

Due to only two sides of building will have windows and lower part will be hotel, I am curious if there will be some hotel rooms without windows.

I know there are inside rooms in cruise ships with no windows but I personally never been/seen a hotel room without a window, and considering this will be a 5 star hotel.

there will be use, but it will be service, back of house, and fire stairs most likely, this means that the floorplan should feel like a "V" of rooms, with all the support in the middle

that is, if the neighboring tower doesn't setback before the hotel portion

nah, it was a wee bit higher than the parking garage.

besides, only valet attendants can enter the parking garage levels at marina city, they're off limits to everyone else, including residents of the towers.

How odd --- you can't go to your own car, bet it will be the same at the Spire.

If I didn't know any better I would say it sure looks like the floors are being assembled and poured in a clockwise spiral (looking from top down). It certainly would make sense because I believe these are all parking garage floors (if I remember correctly).

And to think less than a year ago there were doubts this would ever make it to Upper Wacker street level . . .

Well I could be wrong, but I believe that all of the Marina City parking is public, it is operated completely separately from the residential portions of the towers.
