Thanks, djvandrake. The pedestrian cover was for the Elysian. Walton was blocked off between State & Rush while they hoisted forms.

I think the plan was to excavate about 40 feet down for underground parking, which is especially neat because of the close proximity to the subway tunnels under State. I think I remember hearing/reading that one of the big holdups in getting this project started was city approval for the excavation.

Someone asked me waht was up with the the building directly north of the elysian site. It has scaffolding around it. I don't know if it's been posted, but does anyone here know what's happening there?

^ It was mentioned by somebody either here or at SSC that it was going to be redeveloped into a multi-level retail center, but that it won't be demolished. I'm assuming that you're talking about the Gino's Pizza building

As much as I love this building, and how tall it is, I think we don't talk about it enough! It kinda reminds me of Clare at Water......
Great height, but it seems no one makes enough trips over their.
I only wish I could!
Anyway.............Bump!!!!

What's with the two tower crains for this building?
The white crain was there for awhile, but now there is a yellow one.
For being such a slender tower, is it really going to have two craines?

A CRANE is a mechanical lifting device equipped with a winder, wire ropes and sheaves that can be used both to lift and lower materials. The second crane is to service the underground garage and motorcourt that has no other access. Later one crane will be always erecting precast while the other is building.

it's great to have these spots filling in, and elysian will help extend the skyline slightly and add bulk on the north end

and bye bye parking lot across the street
