Still, I thought it might be interesting for those who rarely venture to the South Side to see many new developments' impact from this perspective. You can see 600 N. LSD, Trump starting to appear, and OMP East, as well as several more minor additions.

Just think how different this angle will look in a few years after CS, TT, Waterview, Legacy, Aqua, etc.
^ You will definitely see it from that point on the lakefront, but not too much, since BCBS is growing too. From that far away, the perspective effect starts to diminish and the proportions of the buildings become much closer to reality. Consider, for instance, Water Tower Place is about 860', but it reads in the photo at about the same height as 340 OTP, despite being over 1 mile further north.

And what are they thinking with those "balconies"?
those corner balconies will be pretty dope for the people who live there. they look big enough to actually be useful outdoor space and not just a place to stash your gas grill and bicycle like so many other undersized balconies on highrise buildings. after spending my first summer in my marina city condo, i've become very spoiled to the big balcony lifestyle; i could NEVER live in a highrise without a large outdoor balcony space.
overall the building isn't great, but that has more to do with its painted concrete nature. clad this one with brick and proper limestone detailing, let it patina for 5 decades or so, and it'd look pretty nice.

^^Agree 100% That FUG would never win awards but if they had chosen different materials it wouldn't be so hideous. The repetitive bays on the front facade are actually kind of pleasant (and completely derivative of early Chicago School) but will always look cheap with the craptastic painted concrete.
I would love to have that big of a balcony though.
I suppose the integral nature of the balconies deserves some credit. If one is going to make 1/4 of the facade or more into balconies, I would always prefer to see something integrated into the design.
And, the solid exterior walls (rather than railings) should prevent us from seeing every model of Weber grill ever manufactured when we look up at the building.
i wonder if the people of peshtigo would find it interesting that a skyscraper in chicago named after their town is taller than any other building in all of wisconsin?
Has anyone gotten a height yet? At 58 stories a residential tower might not be enough to surpass US Bank Center (601').
By the way, CBS 2 Broadcast Center and Marquee Michigan Avenue are topped out.

The bays are derivative of the early Chicago School, yes, but they're not Chicago style windows.
