yeah, sure....I'll rush right downtown and get a good seat for that "Aug. 28" 222 South Main groundbreaking. HP probably meant August 28, 2017. I'm looking forward to seeing your version of the tower, jedikermit. I believe you may beat HP to the finish line.

Sounds like the WTC is moving along quickly. I hope to hear more very soon.

I wonder if the bond issue in SLC will get much opposition. I do agree that the project should be a priority for the city. I wonder how tall it would be....

City signs off on one-stop building permits

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695203428,00.html

...The city on Wednesday kicked off its so-called "one-stop shop," an all-in-one location for the building permit and approvals process. In the past, developers have had to go to seven different departments in buildings throughout the city to have their plans reviewed and permits granted...

I'm having a good feeling about the ground-breaking date for 222 S. Main. On my way to work this morning I noticed that they have built the construction/demo boardwalk out in front of the site.

I went on a photo shoot today and they've already demolished the buildings on the site and it looks like things are really rolling.

That's a good sign.

Up until now HP has been all talk ... but if they're clearing the site, then we may see a hole in the ground by year's end. Maybe even Halloween!

Let's just hope it isn't a hole in the ground next year at this time or longer.

Oh wow, I was wondering how soon they would have those buildings down. Of course, they would not have been too hard to demo, being cheap, temporary shelters...

That's a really good sign then. This could really be it. Finally after YEARS of waiting H.P. will begin work on the 222 South Main project.

Aye, nice pic's Comrade.

I can't wait to see this thing finally move in a verticle direction. Does anyone know of a webcam in the area to watch the construction?

Since I am still fairly new to the website, would it be wise to start a new thread for 222 S Main or do you guys thing we should keep it here? I am thinking with construction starting soon on this building we could see a lot of activity on the forum.

Yes comrade thanks for the pics. As for the separate thread, I don't think it will be necessary. I don't think there will be nearly as much as the CCC thread were it might require its own. Just my opinion though.

This is a major project! I would say yes, we need a specific thread for 222 S Main.

I mean, its been since the Grand America Hotel since weve had a tower this tall begin construction.

I think Ill start it right now, as a matter of fact!
