Finally a Peshtigo pic. Looks decent but I'm not doing backflips. Isn't this a Ralph Johnson? He could have done a lot more with this.

I like the Peshtigo, nothing groundbreaking but unique! It has a retro feel to it, IMHO!

Thanks for posting BVic. Finally they release an image! I like this one a lot - much as I remember it from a couple years ago. Hopefully it sells well and goes u/c next year. I'm very impressed with Related's aggressiveness launching 2 large projects simultaneously in a challenging market - I think they have justified confidence in their locations, designs, overall products, etc...

There was some discussion over in the Trump thread about the amazing transformation taking place along the River, and how the riverfront is really at the center of the boom. In related news, Reschke's 150 N. Riverside project showed up on Bidclerk.com yesterday. This is the 2 tower, 55-story apartment tower, 30-story hotel tower announced several weeks ago. The projected construction start date given on Bidclerk is June 2008. I know it was mentioned that plans were to be submitted shortly to the city, so maybe that has already happened. I'm looking forward to seeing some renderings of this one - It's a DeStefano design, and I know BVic had a positive impression, so I'm optimistic....

almost got this confused with something else...

For the Peshtigo, that's the east face I believe, so the parking podium there is up against LSD, which isn't horribly bad.
But let's hope that the other side, with the pedestrian activity, is more than just a blank wall.

The tower portion looks good though.

I also have a bit of a mystery, at least to me. One of STR's renderings was reposted in the Spire thread, and I noticed a building which has been in his renderings the whole time (it's in the aerial I have as my wallpaper), but I didn't notice until this angle.

What is the building I circled? It looks to be about 800ft, but it doesn't match any building or proposal I know of. It's not 29-39 S LaSalle. From the aerial render, STR has it at Clark and Monroe.
Was this some old proposal that got canceled?

wow, I would expect more from a Johnson design as well. He really toned his style down for this one. We dont even seem to be getting a view of the side of the building that will be its biggest selling point, along the canal. Ralph Johnson took some heat on one of his previous projects as though his work was somewhat the reason the projects didnt sell well. I have even seen people argue it as the cause in the forum. It wasnt his designs though that didnt work, it was the location. No one wants to live in a highrise where one of the most poinent views is of a constantly traffic choked expressway that creates a several block gap of seperation between neighborhoods. Im hoping and assuming there are things we are missing in this project. Something just doesnt quite fit. You can see he had fun with changing the building shape though. I'm pleased it gives a different form.

Well, if the glass is transperent and reflective is kool with me, I'm pretty sure they'll use nothing but the best building materials for this building. I bet it will turm out to be quality

The Johnson/Pestigo reminds me of Gropius, for some weird reasont that I can't articulate this morning. Must see more though before venturing a thumbs up.

Also, the unit prices were a tad high for the Near West DINK demographic that Skybridge was courting.

I'm almost sure it IS 29-39 S LaSalle. You can see it's immediately east-southeast of 181 W Madison, and has the correct shape and size, at least according to one of the released height figures.

Once more info is published I will put an article together for the Peshtigo Times. I am sure my Peshtigo friends will be interested in this project seeing their city was developed in part by a Chicago businessman in the middle 1800s.
