Not likely. There are many people who died, or who will die because of complications from being caught in the dust and those who participated in the recovery of 9/11. The toll coninues to rise.

Ironically, the tower was just on the NBC Nightly News, and true to my suspicions, Brian Williams says that the officials ARE blaming 09-11 for the two firefighters' deaths.

Demolition work has stopped. Again for what seems like the zillionth time!! City officials suspect that a cigarette might be the culprit for the fire.

Residents who live near Ground Zero say that the building should have been removed long time ago. They are frustrated, angry, pissed off and irate that the process of dismantling the tower has gone through so much red tape, BS and delays.

Some say, and we all know this is true, that the tower sat there too long and that nearly six years of waiting to get the structure removed was completely needless and inexcusable, and that they want the building removed immediatley

So can anyone tell me when the next large scale concrete pour will be and for what part? The site is really starting to move now.

Probably more for the foundation and definitely more for the core.

Yet, its these same people who are constantly complaining about the demoliton every step of the way. Either they want it down, or they don't.

Haha!!

Yeah, you're right!! And they've been known to switch back and forth when it's convenient for them.

And BTW, weren't THEY some of the ones who had sided with the relatives when they said that they'd seek to have the building's dismantling stopped when more remains were found?

Boy!! Talk about being two-faced!

What else would they have to do if there was nothing to complain about?

The fact is, anyone who had a problem with the air or the process of removing that building should have moved long before now. I don't want to hear anymore of it from those people.

Part of the problem was that the decision on whether to save and restore the tower or to just get rid of it was tied up in court. The insurers didn't want to fork over any money to fix it up. They were more or less quibbling over every nickel and dime.

They thought that it was much better off being removed. So they paid for the removal rather than to renovate the structure.

The wreckage from the Twins, the nine-stories and 7WTC were removed from Ground Zero in just mere months, yet this dark dismal Relic from the Jurassic Park still remains standing six years later!!

Yeah, there's an old saying; If they can't stand the heat, then they should get out of the kitchen!

At least they aren't blaming it on Larry Silverstein

They can't blame it on him because orginally, that wasn't one of his buildings.
It was out of his hands. And it's not his fault anyway that this happened.

But since the building was damaged by by the falling of the South Tower and it became contaminated with asbestos and other toxins and it was warer-damaged which it's interior had become infested with mold and mildew, and given the fact that the insures won't finance a a rehab, the structure has to come down.

And also, given that the tower is not being saved, the spot that which it sits on has become a part of Ground Zero.

They should be. And then again there were work related deaths when the originals were going up, and unfortunately, there are likely to be some, during the construction of the new ones too.

Yeah, I wrote that in the new thread that I started in the WTC Redevelopment section called "Tragedies at the WTC Site to Date".

I'm not sure, but it looks like the core is going to rise soon. Also, they are making second level already on that structure under the future street!

It DOES look like one of the crane platforms have gotten a little bit higher.

Maybe, but you can definitely see forms that are almost certainly for the core being emplaced along the corners of the leftmost crane:

Does anyone know what shape the FT's core will be? Square? Rectangular? A freakin' octagon?

Last I heard was that it'll be square.

What's that being built next to the tower's columns? Part of the infrasructure? Fulton Street maybe?

Yes, it looks as though the crane's platform on the left has gotten a little bit higher! I think the core is rising on that side as well.
