somebody needs to find out how far along this is. i see that they intend to build this on land controlled by the mccormick place authority, which is a public agency. there must be some public info on this if this is serious.

also, the sears tower is running about 25% vacant right now. on the one hand, all of this supertall development clearly makes it less of a security problem since it would only be the fourth tallest building in the united states, and anything that makes the building less of a security problem is going to be very good for the sears tower's vacancy rate. on the other hand, i am sure that the sears tower people enjoy a nice revenue stream from their communication and observation businessess. without that revenue, and if vacancies continue, i wonder if there might be a future in which the top 1/4 building is just closed off. thoughts?
