New updates to the list from my long walk around the city today:

Completed:

It was interesting to find that the steel frame for the new Columbia dorm at 626 South Clark is all the way up to the roof of the Dwight Building already! Also, construction has resumed on the high-rise at Trio, although interestingly without a tower crane.

Honte, a Kellher supertower in the South Loop would certainly fit in with the idea that Kellher is betting on a Chicago Olympics... What better place for an observation deck supertower than the south loop, right at the heart of Chicago's possible future Olympics? Imagine the traffic an OD south of the Sears would get during a Chicago Olympics?

This project is not really a mystery. I mentioned it about 6 months ago when Pandemonious brought up the subject of a new supertall, though people did not seem interested in seeing renderings at that time. If anyone is interested in doing some legwork, a rendering is available.

Good point, and Goettsch is on the A-list for Chicago 2016 projects. They have the stadium design contract.

wawaweewah, I'm sorry, wasn't here six months ago. that'd be so great if you get renderings... although, after seeing some of the other supertall-tower proposals for chicago in the past, i'm really not that excited about this idea. but hopefully the design will knock my socks off

Well, find a copy of the Goettsch Partners monograph that was published in the last year, and flip through it. You'll find a couple of large renderings of this. First person to scan and post here wins.

I can tell you that the project had nothing to do with Kelleher, Beitler, or Trump, but that it was a real proposal. jstush's partygoing encounter with the GP woman confirms that it is still a real proposal.

It's pretty stunning, although in a way I think it could have been better given that you have 2000 feet to work with. But very sleek and very Chicago.

Certainly...but why build it as a Coms/OD? It sounds like a tower to me...not another supertall.

If this was the case, the best place, assuming something tall is getting built in the museum park developement would be a little southwest of the Columbian. However, I don't think this is Kelleher's "project" (that probably doesnt exist anyway.

A coms/OD building sounds like Beitler to me. But why would he switch from Pelli's design? (besides the fact that it was generally hated).

Would be good for the Games though...and it might make the Park Michigan height issue irrelevant.

Just for Old Times Sake......(Geez...how old is this picture . Its amazing how much a 8 years of insane construction levels can change even the worlds tallest skyline).
