Oooh, that's not good. That would indicate that the park site north of 311 will be developed before the parking lot to the south, no? I was hoping they'd be generous and do it the other way around.

At least maybe it's the Smith / Gill proposal?

115 ft, right? Maybe any West Loop forumers could find out about attending the meeting with the developers and aldermen and make clear that WLCO doesn't speak for everyone in the West Loop and that some people would actually like some much needed density to support more retail?

Definately. I'd be disappointed with his Transbay proposal. I think its just bland. I'd ratehr that SF takes the Pelli proposal and we get a 3 sided version of the SOM Transbay proposal.

May be old news but that project along LP is moving forward well apparently...

"... a luxury condo project at 2520 N. Lakeview Ave., the former Columbus Hospital site. Prices are said to average $900 a square foot.

Marketing began in March; about 40% of the 306 units are under sales agreements, Mr. Murphy says. Construction should start early next year, he says."

i just wanted to let you chicagoan's know that your city rocks. i just returned to philly from a long weekend in chicago, and i was totally blown away. i'm really envious. we begin to build ONE large skycraper and all of the philly skyline nerds pee their pants. oh, and they didn't appreciate me talking up your level of development and architectural style. take pride in your city, i sure do. hope to live there one day!

I'm not so sure this guy didn't know what he was talking about. Countrywide may be fine, but they certainly may also be fucked. Check the news today. They just took an 11B loan to fund loans. I guess they figure that their proceeds from their new loans will pay the debt service. They better pray that no one defaults. I realize this kind of stuff happens all the time, but this sounds like the kind of Ponzi financing that sends markets into a tailspin.
