Great action!!

I enjoyed watching one of the giant grids being put it the trench right across from the Century 21 Store!

Looks like they poured a lot of concrete yesterday.

yeah, somewhat...

Where are the other two cranes they're supposed to be getting? I heard that there were going to be four of them.

Is that the 2nd observation deck ?

Are they really gonna build it ? and at what height ?

Daquan13 · #**1446** Posted **Aug 4, 2007, 10:29 PM**

In THAT small little area? First time I heard of that.

borgo100 · #**1447** Posted **Aug 5, 2007, 3:11 AM**

humm it'd be sweet if like the roof was 1776' feet and the spire was 2001'

rbowk · #**1448** Posted **Aug 5, 2007, 7:26 AM**

when will this thing start rising ?

If I had a penny for every time that question has been answered, I'd be able to buy the Freedom Tower.

Scruffy · #**1450** Posted **Aug 5, 2007, 6:48 PM**

the pod looks way too small for an observatory. its smaller than the 102 floor of the ESB

Daquan13 · #**1451** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 1:15 AM**

And also, we already have one that size atop the ESB.

Why would anyone want to make another one that size?

Dac150 · #**1452** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 1:59 AM**

Its probably just for broadcasting equipment and things of that nature.

aluminum · #**1453** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 4:01 AM**

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Tower#Floor_breakdown

And I've heard somewhere else that there is a proposed 2nd observation deck above the roof of the tower near the spire base. Maybe you guys know more about it.

Daquan13 · #**1454** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 1:20 PM**

Yes, proposed.

That does not necessarily mean that there will be one. It only means that it's sort of under study. It still has yet to be etched in stone.

Thanks for that video link. For those who keep asking when it will be above ground....please click the link on page 58 so you have some idea of the amount of work that goes into building a structure this size. How many of you asking how long is it going to take actually work in construction or understand the process of building supertalls? That'd be an interesting question in my book.....

Dac150 · #**1458** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 3:15 PM**

As long as it is getting built what should it matter when its gonna be built. They said the project should be completed by 2013. So there you have it.

Or if it will feature a 2nd obs deck or not. I'm happy that they're gonna put ONE in there along with the restaurant, much less two obs decks.

Dac150 · #**1460** Posted **Aug 6, 2007, 3:30 PM**

O, they are putting the restaurant back. I didn't know that, but sure glad to hear it. Is it still called Windows of the World?
