Your right scraperdude. McLelland street is about 1060 E., so this is where that big granite furniture store is. The 2 point perspective rendering is like you're standing on 2100 S. and 1060 E. looking SE. You can see the statue in the middle of the road and the Barnes and Noble on the far left. I also think it looks desent. What I'm confused about is the north elevation; it doesn't seem to match with the rendering, and I thought that they only owned the Granit building and not the rest where the Blue Boutique is

(edit) just figured it out. the north elevation is only looking at the southern most building.

Anyway, I hope they are able to get some local buisnesses in there and keep the charm of the area. I'll hold on to some hope.

^ haha I kind of agree with that. ... As a kid I used to think the granite furniture building was a movie theatre.

I guess it wouldn't take much to improve the look of that Granite Furniture block. Since it would appear that they're using a lot of brick, which is a good thing, "I would hope the brick is not of the same finish as what has been used on some of the other projects such, as Barnes and Noble". That patina just doesn't cut it for the rustic charm feel they seem to want to attain.

Wow, things are kind of quiet today. Here's an little attention grabber. Its interesting that the slower U.S. economy is helping to keep Utah going as the top job growth market.

not really development news, but the Wells Fargo building has been evacuated because of a bomb threat today.

my wife drives through that section every day to commute to work, so so the construction will suck for her. However being that she does drive it she knows that it needs it, it gets pretty backed up during rush hour.

....The project will include widening both east- and westbound I-80 to four lanes, replacing 12 bridges, adding three new bridges, retaining and sound walls.

This is going to be quite an overhaul. I presume it will have much the same state of the art design of bridges etc. as the new I-15.

So construction begins in the fall. Does anyone know what the completion date is? Its going to be a pain for those who use that route for commuting, but a much improved freeway when its finished.

Knowing UDOT, probably March of 2045.

Not bad, that's pretty fast. Hopefully, they'll be able to keep to that time frame.

I know we don't have the winter, but it was amazing to see a 13.5 mile of freeway rebuilt - complete with new bridges, two new lanes, pedestrian overpasses, and an interstate ramp all complete in 25 months from start to finish in the eastern Phoenix suburbs.

How long did I-15 take, and how long is this smaller I-80 project going to take? I am sure SLC could find faster contractors!

And done beautifully, I must say. Phoenix's freeways are breathtaking. Especially compared to the nastiness we have up here. They're learning, but they're learning about ten years too late.

Even little details to the SLC Freeways would do much to improve them. I like the character it gives to these new Houston freeways just by adding a 'Lone Star' to the freeway supports in the picture below.
