^^^^That is a different angle & it looks like it might be an earlier image. I was hoping someone could add mandarin & the spire to the new LSE render spyguy posted....I was aware of this older render

AON will block most of the Mandarin from either of those two views. What I would like to see is a complete fill-in of all the Streeterville projects and what one can see of the River North projects (I don't really expect that, it would be a ton of work but it would be cool)

So, anyone know where this puppy is at? Are they trying to presell it?

^ When I stopped by the sales center a few weeks ago, I was told by a salesperson she did not know when marketing would begin - could be 3 months, 6 months or a year. Of course this was either what she was instructed to say, or the development team does not tell them too much in advance......

Gee, it's 1981 again. I'm surprised they didn't stick a tree in that hole. Anyway, I DO like the design.

Cool Hmmm

I'm gonna be honest here - I'm actually kind of dissappointed. Yes, it's a cool design, but I actually expected more of Arquitectonica. Oh well. Still good for Chicago.

I really want to visit Chicago once its long list of projects gets close to completion (well, I want to visit Chicago anyway).

I think its funny for these renderings, they show a finished AQUA and this tower but they dont show a finished TIDES.

If the Tides were being built in my city, the whole place would stop to watch and it would be front page news.

I actually like the building. It'll have a nice view of the LSE park and its very accessible for pedestrians.

Coming soon (hopefully) to a hole in the sky near you.

Current view of the site. Staging area for the Tides.

I sure hope they give this building proposal a cool name soon.

I love the Tides. What I hate is the Shoreham, with those ridiculous filleted corners and the horrible pointless semi-cornice.

No one would want to live in a hurricane!

From what I've heard they're still trying to figure that one out. . . I'm sure the thought of shoe-horning the public school into that space hasn't been entirely dismissed either. . .

Is the school even still happening?

For names... real quick I have "The Void," "Apertecture," or my favorite "The Orifice"

In all seriousness... I think they should just go ahead and call it "The Gateway" or "Skygate" either something catchy that refers to the void, or something that completely ignores it is fine also.
