^Wrong. We are talking about foundations here.. which 353 N Clark's will be completed within weeks, not years. That equipment will then supposedly go to another site right then. You can't make money on equipment that sits and does nothing.

As for the 94 story building.. no idea. It isn't the location of the other unknown towers I know about.

But CASE is just doing the foundation, and if theres only 2 caissons left at 353 N Clark, they just have to pour the mat and then they're done. So if they're immediately moving to this 94-story one, its not that far away.

I think people are confusing the spire w this rumor. I have had 4 caisson workers at 353 tell me they are headed to the spire next ( bigger diameter caissons than at 353 ).

The caisson crew is planning on being out of 353 next Wed. They don't hang around until the project is done ;-)

This all seems very suspect to me - at least as far as the location of this supposed supertall. Across Kinzie would be the already-approved final piece of River North Center (roughly 500'). I'm very skeptical that the city would be in favor of granting such a massive increase in FAR for that parcel (the entire PD or portion thereof) - I'm not even sure I think that's such a great location for a supertall (there are many better ones out there - some already proposed, some yet to be). I've been arguing for some time that it would make sense to switch the tower from condo to rental and launch it asap - the market is really there for a new luxury rental tower in this S. River North location - very close to a lot of new Class A office space coming online - in addition a short walk across the River to the Loop, not too mention in the midst of all the restaurants and entertainment in the area...

That hotel project (forget the name or exact address, i think it was 20-30 stories) on the west side of Franklin, in a small lot between Madison and Washington, should be bumped to site prep, they're doing soil borings.

I just checke online, and Eleven City Diner is at 1112 S. Wabash. If I were to guess, I would say that 1130 South Wabash is where the sales center for the Columbian is, as well as the surrounding parking spaces in that lot.

Sorry - my bad! I'm still relatively new to the world of high-rise construction. It's definitely been interesting learning all different sorts of information pertaining to architecture, construction, engineering, etc. from all of the professionals and students who post on SSP, over this past year since I've joined.

You mean the empty lot at approximately 1130 Wabash, of course.

Yep, there will definitely be a tower there someday. The property has a nice view corridor to the lake/park between 1130 Michigan and Columbian.

What do you know about this? I have heard that a sort of cylindrical massing model was being studied, but nothing serious.

...just a quick post....they are setting up the scaffolding on the front (Randolph) side of BCBS.....it looks like the construction will be visible soon...
