I agree with you all, Spring did the people wrong by stating low prices to start saying that it was going for lower income people. I know of 4 or 5 friends who all put in their $500 and withdrew it once they heard of the price increases. I think they lost lots of interest when they choose to do that to people. To bad for them, but I still think it will happen. They cleared the land and seemed like a strong contender. If anything I really thought Legacy would not happen, it seemed so cheesy but guess its going to turn out to be a good looking building.

360 sure looks like its gotten tall recently, i went out of town for the weekend and it looks a lot taller.

Yeah, I went up to Saint Ed's the other day and took a bunch of pictures. I believe 360 has surpassed The Monarch in height now, if not then they must be about the same then. I'm still resizing those pics, I'll try and post them later today.

Did it list a website or any information about the sale of the residences? I really like the location of this building, and I'm curious as to what the price point will be.

ACC which built their South Austin Campus last year on Stassney Lane near Manchaca Road with a 4-story, 62 foot building and just north of it is a 3-story parking garage. Well, apparently they're adding at least one more level to the parking garage. I looked into it and officially it'll add one 1/2 levels. Meaning one full level running the length of the garage and another level which will run half the length of the garage, so technically it'll be 2 additional levels making it 5 levels tall. I'm excited about this since it'll likely mean that there will be views of downtown from the top. There's already views of the Ben White corridor buildings to the north. I live just a thousand feet or so from this building. The project should be finished by August 14th according to ACC's South Austin Campus community website. The garage will also have an elevator.

This is way off subject but did anyone see the news story of 2 girls from Waco who rented a canoe and went onto TownLake and were not aware (I guess) of the boat ban. Anyway they got sucked down Longhorn dam and later were found screaming somewhere along the lake in east Austin. Amazingly with few injuries. The police are investigating as to who rented them the canoe and it seems whoever did is in big trouble. They must have wondered why they were the only people on the lake and from what I heard the current was overcoming their efforts to go back upstream. Sounds like a Lawsuit to me. Geez who in the world would rent a couple of young girls a canoe when the lake is raging like a river? Just plain Dumb!

Yeah, whoever rented them that canoe is in a world of trouble. There is only once place on town lake that rents them too.. so I think it wont be hard to track it down.

The girls were 17 and 19 I think and had no idea the lake was closed (why would they)..

I mean, why would the rental place even be open? Put a sign on the door and put your employees on leave

Is it just me, or did they raise the crane for the Monarch Tower even higher? I wonder why they did that especially since they are close to topping out. And I didn't think the crown of the building would be that high up.

I was at the Tiniest Bar in Texas next to the Monarch on Friday and ten cement trucks showed up there after midnight on Friday. Not sure what is going on over there!

In high-rise construction, cement is poured overnight... That's why you saw the cement trucks arriving after midnight. Usually pours start between 12 midnight and 02:00.

I thought the same thing, but was not sure.
There seemed to be plenty of clearance as it was. Much more than 360 has now.

While far from downtown, I thought I"d share some renderings of the Aspen Lake development in NW Austin. Two 15-story towers are ultimately planned, along with a 4 and 6-story office building currently under construction. This is near Lakeline Mall

They definatly raised the crane I got another look today it is higher than before and Im really not sure why because G Lee mentioned they had a high clearence already. I don't think they are planning to go much higher arn't they around 29 stories now? Does anybody know why the crane was raised so high? No change on the 360 crane.

Wow, very cool. Thanks for the PM, Mopacs. Not sure on the height, but they look to be around 180 to 200 feet tall. Tower of the Hills adjacent to these is around ~140 feet tall and is just 10 floors. I know there's no height restrictions in that area due to the airport or any other problems. That huge water tower along 183 next to that car dealership just down the street is the Pond Springs Water Tank. That water tower is 215 feet tall according to one source. So something in the area of 200 feet is definitely not out of the question there.

So I guess Tower of the Hills is represented there in the lower left near 183. This is interesting.

As for their design, they're ok. Their facades could use a little dressing up, but I like the roof idea. I wonder if the pyramidal roof will be glass or stone/metal? I hope it's glass.

At this point these would be the tallest outside of downtown, UT Campus, and West Campus/The Drag areas. Of course to be technical, they'll have TWELVE Domain to contend with, which ever is built first will get the title.

I used to work in that WaMu right next door. About two years ago I saw a bunch of guys in hard hats looking at Blue Prints. I figured they were just building some big box retail.
