Downtown Salt Lake City with more buildings "Sky Scrapers" real Sky Scrapers.
Can you imagine looking out your window and seeing something like this?
If you were looking out your window onto a scene like that, your "window" would have to be at the top of a 1200 foot tower located at about 20th South. I think that would be a pretty stupid location for the state's tallest.
Does anyone have the date that the old Key Bank Tower is coming down? I heard it was in August sometime? I am so glad to have found this site and to find other people who are interested in development and highrises. I am driving my wife nuts trying to talk to her about all of this stuff.
August 18th at around 6 in the morning. ( I think I remember reading from the newspaper ) Also word is that the streets around the crossroads block ( Main, West, south Temple and 100 south ) will all be closed off.
I'm up for going that morning to check it out if anyone is wanting to tag along.

Aww man! I just realized that I'll be partying it up at Snowbird the night before and will probably be awake until about 6 so no way am I witnessing the implosion.
Somebody has to get it on video and post it so all of us can enjoy.

Welcome to the forum T-Mac... where-abouts are you from?
Hopefully we will get to see some new highrises and larger one's coming online. With the need for more office space, let's getting building people. Rocky will be gone soon and then let the skyscrapers climb!!!
What does Rocky have to do with anything? By the way, welcome to the forum.
I don't get that comment either. It's not like the second Rocky leaves downtown will see a boon of office towers. And if they do, it will only be because they were proposed during Rocky's term and it takes years to get these types of development off the ground.
What I am getting at it that it would be nice to have a mayor who is more developer friendly and not one who fights everything. I am referring to the skybridge, which I feel is a great idea and to his scuffle with Dell Loy Hansen of Wasatch. Also, wasn't he totally against the Gateway? I do realize that the projects take a while to get off the ground. I enjoy watching the new developments and it seems that everytime one is announced in the city, he is opposed to something with it.
