I've been off the internet for almost 2 weeks, so bare with me folks! Since I've been off I haven't been able to update the list, (Twelve Domain!

and other stuff), but I'm getting to it.

That would be Tower of the Hills, a 10-story office building. I think it's about 150 to 160 feet tall. Twelve Domain will be atleast twice its height.

Kudos for finding that Block 21 rendering, (beautiful design). And I'll have to send out a few emails. I wanted to send one to The Austonian folks, but I've been off the internet for almost 2 weeks, (computer troubles). I'm back now, though. I'll send the folks at CLB an email. I did after all model their tower for their presentation before council, so fingers crossed, I'll get some info back.

I think I have seen it listed on Emporis before.
Also it would be great for someone to post a current list (with pics/drawings if possible) of all the buildings under construction. And a list of all the approved buildings with the latest date they might start construction. I am having a hard time keeping track of all this.

Yep, yep, I've added a compilation list to the first page of this thread. In my signature below each of my posts, you click on "Austin Boom" in red letters, and it'll take you to that page with the info. I'm planning on adding all the lowrises soon also. Also, yes, I am an editor at Emporis, too, and Legacy at Town Lake is listed.

I update the list everytime a new building is announced. I wasn't able to do it this past week and a half since I've been off the internet, but I'll get Twelve Domain added, and a few renderings also updated for other buildings, (Block 21, thanks to Goldenboot for finding it). Whenever someone comes on the forum and reports on any progress on a building, groundbreaking, site clearing, or announcement, I go right away and add it to the list. So it's updated all the time.

Interesting article in the Austin Chronicle discussing timeline, size and location of the new central library. Bascially located where green water treatment plant currently is... streets will be re-gridded and the plant moved. City hopes to have library complete by 2012.

Thanks, ATXboom, I'll check that out.

FYI - First image it really big.
Sorry that the image is kinda graining, but its a 3mp camera with an 8x zoom at quite a distance, and the hazy day did not help, I will try again on a better day.

Those are very nice. Where did you take those? I'm loving them! And holy smokes, look at the cranes, 16 of them, 14 tower cranes in all.

Also, the TWELVE tower has not, nor will go before the council for approval. Proper zoning is already in place and the Planning Commission will be approving (or disapproving) the site plan. Also, I believe the new zoning designation for the Domain will allow for a building of 318'-320'. I’m pretty sure Novare will be pushing that limit with the TWELVE Domain project.
As for the other hotels, only the Aloft has stated it’s height in stories (6). The Westin (or should I say Starwood Hotels & Resorts) has never publicly stated how tall their Westin is going to be. As a mentioned before, when Starwood announced plans for a Westin at the Domain, the City Council had yet to approve the new zoning for the property (The Domain mixed-use development)! What you see in the rendering on the billboard at the Domain is a conceptual rendering and nothing more at this juncture. The hotel could end up looking similar to that particular rendering, but I believe it will be different.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. I saw your post below, (quoted), and wasn't sure you had heard about the Westin's height or whatever. With all these projects being announced it's certainly easy to get them mixed up. That's why I've been working so hard on keeping the list updated so folks stay informed, (myself included!)

Fantastic! It's about time huh? I do hope they tweaked the design, though. That's really my only gripe with it. It does have retail, atleast that's what they had originally planned, mixed with office and residential, (condos). The height isn't anything to write home about, but it's about as good as we can hope for being that close to the Capitol. It could have been worse I suppose, atleast it's another highrise. One thing we can hope for is that the rendering is off. I always thought the rendering for it looked a bit amateur.
And, beautiful pictures from the Plaza Lofts there, rayfes. Those sunset pictures are stunning. Darn, I see we missed out on a Movies on the Park viewing. Those are fun to go to if you've never been by the way.
