I take the time sometimes to post updated photos of projects on this forum that I took while downtown. Like the City Creek Center project or the Metro just to name a few. But since 222 south Main hasn't started yet I haven't taken any photos of that.

Comrade you make me smile. Do you still think the skybridge is bad for the LDS City Creek Center project?

It's been a long time since I've actually been to SLC. It would be great to see even some of the condo developments around town, etc.

I brought this up a while back, thought people agreed to tone it down and we were right back to the same crap a day later. Not that I hate the updates Delts brings, but this isn't a newspaper. I have to wade through all those stories in the paper to get to the stories about downtown development and other major construction projects, I don't need to do that on here as well.

I think most stories in this thread should be about downtown, since I know for a fact that's what Viperlord intended when he created this thread. Not to say the occasional suburban development can't be discussed here, but I think we're going a bit far when we're posting business park construction in Draper, or talking about growth in the state. Yes growth can be connected to development, but they're not projects. We need to discuss projects more and that's something often lost here.

As for the skybridge Infill, yes I still don't like the idea. I've never been keen on the idea of a skybridge over Main Street.

What would help a lot, for me, is if articles were NOT copied and then pasted in here. If you have a story, just post the link. Scrolling through a huge article just to get to the latest post can be a pain.

I have to agree with you comrade, as I was reading through the City Center thread I kept shaking my head.."no, no, no". That development doesn't need a skybridge to be successful. You want to keep ur pedestrians on the street, not above it. There are other options that could be looked at other than a skybridge. Anyway, as I can tell from some of the posts SLC is booming. You guys really need a new tallest office building!!!

... I have to agree with the above. I think it would be best if we didn't post about all the stuff that is barely connected to downtown development. Instead we just posted about actual downtown developments that are happening or proposed. With all the newspaper articles it makes it really hard to go back through the thread and read up on older posts of greater significance. It was great for a while Delts so thanks for doing it, but maybe just a link to the stuff about downtown? Renderings and stuff like that is really appreciated, or where they directly reference a project, but state growth is honestly a really boring read. ... Another thing about newspaper articles is that our papers tend to say the same thngs over and over and over and over again before something new is said. That is tedious. Thanks.

I think we have offended Delts.. for a guy who averages over 7 posts a day to not have posted for the last two days tells me something.

I was thinking the same thing. To go for Two mornings without delts posting anything seems weird to me. Come back Delts we still like to hear your views on projects.

No word that I know of. Looks to be yet another delayed project. We seem to get alot of those here in Salt Lake City even with a high market.

Hey! The Key Bank sign is up on the south side of the Beneficial Life Building. I'm not sure I like it...maybe because the letters are black.

I attended the groundbreaking. There's no heavy equipment out there yet, but the project is definitely going forward. The trailer you see at the site is not a construction trailer, but a sales office for the approximately 90 condos & townhomes going in. At least that's what it was on the day of the groundbreaking. Go inside the trailer and you can get a pretty good sense of the high quality finishes they're going to use inside the condos.

All in all it's a pretty good time to own property in the Marmalade area!

BTW, this is my first post on this board! Time for a ridiculous smiley:

Unfortunately no. I once knew, but I forgot.

I do, however, remember some of the small shops that will be opening:

-Spotted Dog Creamery (ice cream shop)
-hair dresser of some kind
-Tsunami Sushi
-pizza joint
-video rental place?
-Barbacoa (quick mexican food similar to Cafe Rio)

Contrary to the advertising on the website (http://www.liveatmarmalade.com) , it looks like there will be no organic grocer.

Salt Lake Really Needs a NEW "Salt Lake Public Safety Building"

Since we were just talking about the building a few weeks ago, I found this story at KSL. Yet another reason why those guys need a new building.
