Looks like 3 spaces to go..
Six new tenants is very good news! I guessed that Bella Bloom was a florist but from the website it's a jewelry store.

From your graphic all the storefronts fronting J Street are now taken. That should really liven up the block.

3. is the mother india restaurant getting demolished in order to accomidate the cathedral lofts or whatever they're called?

4. any word on the broadway bridge?

and 5. downtown plaza rennovation. is it still gonna happen? if so, anytime soon?

1. The Metropolitan has not gone thru any city committees or commissions
yet... it's in a holding pattern.

3. Mother India will get demolished for Cathedral Square.

4. The Broadway Bridge is just an idea... no real plans have be made to
build it in the near future.

5. DT Plaza that is the $64,000 question.

Take from Auburn last weekend coming back from Tahoe.

In February Joie de Vivre said the Citizen would open "in 2008". JDV hasn't added the Citizen to their website yet.

While we wait for the Citizen we've still got the Dude.

Speaking of West Capitol ....dude

Tower Bridge Gateway to close
Sacramento Business Journal
Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Tower Bridge Gateway, the former State Route 275, will be closed Tuesday through Thursday as a road crossing the old highway is demolished.

Riske Lane, a 250-foot overcrossing east of Jefferson Boulevard, is coming down as a first step in the city's effort to transform a stretch of Tower Bridge Gateway from a freeway to a city street.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted to Jefferson Boulevard and West Capitol Avenue. Vehicles traveling west over Tower Bridge will exit West Capitol Avenue and head west to Jefferson Boulevard.

Tower Bridge Gateway reopens Friday to one lane of traffic in each direction between Jefferson and Fifth Street. The city is turning the old 275 into an arterial boulevard with three at-grade traffic lights.

I think this will help to spark redevelopment along WC and most importantly in the area between the Ziggurat and Raley Field.

I got to work with the engineers who designed this a couple of years ago. It's definitely fun to see construction starting.

Yeah, I agree. Why don't they have the old Cal-Western States Life Insurance Bldg. on their website, at least as a potential project? Bad webmastership!

If the Citizen isn't opening until 2008 it might be a little early to start hard promoting. You can only cry "Opening Soon!" for so long and then it gets tired. But yeah, a mention of a new JDV hotel coming to Sacramento in 2008 wouldn't hurt.

The new Residence Inn on L Street will open in June and I don't think Marriott added it to their directory until Jan or Feb.
