Compared to Waterview Tower this one just looks massive. I know the city wants developers to go thin and tall but 300 LaSalle is going to be a brut

How tall is that one going to be? If it broke 700 that would be awesome. If it's on the river it can't be less than 40 stories though.

I can't believe this ones so far along already. I always love a classic office building in a sea of condo, hotel and mixed-use towers.

It is definitely much less thin than Waterview but it's important to note that office towers here will never come close to being as thin as residential towers can be - just reflects the differences in requirements of the 2 uses and the economics involved. That being said, it is notable that 300 probably has the smallest floor plates (not by a huge margin but still notable) of all of the recent large office towers built downtown (25,000 sf vs the more typical 27,000-31,000 sf or so).......this sounds great to me and I hope it could be somewhat of a trend (although you'll probably never see floor plates again for office towers of less than 23,000 sf or so)...maybe we could get the average back down to the mid-20's (000s), and gain some height! I'm remaining hopeful as to this for 200 N. Riverside (especially because it's also a Hines project)...I would love to see over 800' for that one...
