He's referring to 300 N. Lasalle, that's why I brought that crane up a while ago, I had an inkling that that crane was a triple 9 and Otis had just said that they planned on putting a gigantic triple 9 on a barge for the 300 Lasalle project. Then I saw that enormous red manatowac on the site of Aqua and thought that it was perhaps what Otis was referring to. I guess I was right...

That will be the most awesome cluster of buildings, especialy when you consider the construction of a supertall in LSE by the river, plus the other remaining LSE towers, would essentially link CS into the cluster...

I also agree. It will be as if someone dumped Miracle-Gro in LSE. I'm afraid it might throw the whole skyline out of balance. It needs to be counter-balanced elsewhere.

However, views from within the park will be amazing.

As busy as the site was, I was surprised to see no construction equipment on the actual site of the building's footprint. All the action was on the broad empty expanse to the east and south. The site is basically littered with caisson tubes and steel this-and-that all waiting to go in the ground. Very cool to watch from my layperson's perspective.

is it possible that there is a shortage of large cassion drilling rigs with all the sites ready to go U/C? I noticed the same thing when I went by the site. Lots of stagging but no BIG rigs drilling

The building looks really cool. One question: I know it's just a rendering, but it looks like the balconies on the upper floors have really high walls. Maybe it's just an illusion because you're looking up at them, but does anyone know the story there?

I think it might just be the perspective of this particular rendering; as far as I know the floor-to-ceiling heights are constant on all of the (residential) floors. Anyone else have any information to suggest otherwise?

In the model I have seen, the balconies appeared to have railings rather than walls. They might have been glassed in, it was hard to tell, but the rail height seemed into proportion to me....not like thay were bunkers or something.

what you think are "high walls" are just the undersides of the undulating balconies. it's the extreme perspective that's fooling your eyes. the balconies, as far as i know, will be lined with continuous metal railings, not walls.

As always, renderings are renderings, best to wait until something tangible has started rising before making a judgement, at least that is the way I've always felt about projects that are U/C.

I wonder the reason that somewhere near the 60th floor(???) there are no undulating balconies, just glass. It appears a little bit weird that way.
