Also, the school is still on. Magellan is in final negotiations with the city about the location, but the current talk is to have two locations. The larger 4-story location is in the corner between the Lancaster and the Shoreham. The secondary location in the NE corner of the park. It will be K-8 and probably a charter school.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Hmm, I wonder if this is the 1,000-footer that
Pandemonious talked about earlier. How cool would it be if they actually did what was shown in those earlier artist's renderings and extended Field Blvd. to Wacker and put the tower over it with that archway?
edit: I did some digging and found a mention of this proposal in the
Aqua thread. Apparently it's supposed to be in the 90-story range. I hope it's not disappointing, as I have this awesome vision of a twin-peaked tower with a huge base fronting Wacker, hovering over Field Blvd with a rooftop garden or pool on the 30th floor, with two towers continuing up on the east and west sides for another 60 floors.

Also, great news about the school(s). I have high hopes for the design and hope it's not totally low-end-burgized...

There are four "future development" buildings along wacker in between the Swissotel and the Regatta in SOM's master plan. So we're probably going to get something in the 90-story range, plus another prominent riverfront tower just to the west.
