My bad - LV Wet I thought was Wet and Wild so I deleted my original post. Why can't they call these projects something different than names we already know?

It's not a go yet. May 2 is Zoning Commission meeting for this project. FAA approval is one of several requirements needed. The County is requiring many significant projects now to clear the land prior to being given use permits. Helps reduce land flipping purchases as the buyer of the property has to spend money to get it ready.

Gold Coast, Orleans, South Point, Tropicana, Riviera, Sahara, Circus Circus, Stratosphere, Imperial Palace etc on or near the Strip can all be got for less than $80 a night during the week.
Prices will change in the future for Tropicana as they were reviewed by the County Zoning Commission to do a lot of construction including building additional towers. High rises are now added. Got approval. Sahara is changing hands and its new owner is well known in Beverly Hills; won't be an inexpensive hotel for long. North Strip is red hot for ultra luxury given all the of the new projects and purchases of existing ones. With the Frontier rumors and estimates of North Strip land being worth $40 million an acre, will be great to see all of the changes coming. Don't count on Circus Circus sitting too long. It may very well become City Center II as it has sufficient acreage to do it.

Actually, towers 3 and 4 are going to be significantly different in look than towers 1 and 2 of Panorama Towers.

Anybody have a prediction as to when the Vegas strip will stretch out to the stratosphere? Imagine all casino's end to end without gaps all the way out to the stratosphere. Is 20 years too long? Maybe 15 years?

The only available completely empty gap left is the southwest corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Sahara, and from there to the Strat is just a gift shop, a tattoo parlor and a motel. Of course there are also some other crappy old places along the north Strip, and some cheapo strip-malls that need to be replaced. I don't think anybody will put a resort next to the Strat (only thing ever proposed near there was Stupak's Titanic folly), but there may be more condo towers up there as they clean up that neighborhood. Carl Icahn has the Strat up for sale, by the way, so he's probably not going to do the expansion they were talking about. Oh wait a minute, there is a plan that some investors have to group a bunch of land owners north of the Strat along the railroad tracks and sell that as a potential resort site. But in twenty years anything can happen. In that time resorts will probably be lined up all the way down to the new airport in Ivanpah. South of McCarran airport holds incredible potential for condo and resort development along the boulevard and I-15.

Thanks for those shots inside the site MsuMix. Don't get to see from that angle very often. The Pelli tower really looks different from that one angle.

Hey, it looks like the core is above the top of the hole now. When are you guys going to install those tower cranes on Cosmo?

If LVT gets the go ahead it could be as soon as 10-15 years imo. Just walking up the north strip from Stardust to Stratosphere in February made me realise how sparse that part of the strip actually is. Litter, weeds and the lack of people is such a far cry from what we have less than 2 miles south. I dare say it but Fremont Street is looking in alot better shape than the north strip at present

Wouldn't it be fantastic to see the north strip thriving like the mid-strip is today in a few years. Hopefully LVT, Echelon Place, Fontainebleau will be the calling cards for others to build up here and to generally clean up the whole immediate area from north of Riveria right up to the Stratosphere.
