i ran across an image of another similar building proposed near miami - to me it looks much more elegant than aqua... sorry but i don't think aqua will look good (and defenitily not elegant) being this tall

The 24-storey undulating tower, the design of which is inspired by the action of the local breezes and ocean waves,

bull!

WonderlandPark · #**1187** Posted **Mar 9, 2007, 2:39 AM**

The rendering of that Miami tower shows like 45 stories, — is with 24 stories?

Aqua is going to be over 800 feet of glorious undulating facade goodness

There is still at least one lakefront proposed one left to be built.
To be honest though, I am not opposed to having some smaller buildings at the lakefront. That way, it allows for build-up of buildings to the taller ones, in this case Aqua, which will still be seen from the lake. Plus it gives everyone more views in every building. We don't want Dubai in Chicago.

damn, first 235 w van buren, and now this. it's like a slightly smaller version of a year ago in february when waterview and the clare both went officially "u/c" on the same day.

happy friday everyone!

chrizow · #**1194** Posted **Mar 9, 2007, 10:31 PM**

can we get an up to date rendering for those who do not want to sift through 49 pages of Aqua goodness?!

spyguy · #**1195** Posted **Mar 9, 2007, 10:34 PM**

Great news! If MO actually does start construction within a month or two that would be an amazing feat to see two 800 footers rise close to each other.

Oh hells yeah!! Feels like we've been sitting in anticipation for two weeks for the official anouncement. Thanks BVic!

Aqua and Chicago spire are my two favorite proposals right now. One down, one to go!

Chitown · #**1199** Posted **Mar 9, 2007, 11:08 PM**

Booyah! I've posted a "any day now" dancing banana post twice in high anticipation of it going U/C; today, I get to do it in genuine celebration!

A big thanks in advance to those members who will be providing the picture by picture visual record as this project moves forward!
