Nice updates as always solar,

The first pour of the self-climbing system should go on wednesday. Look for it to climb the next day (if it dosent we are in serious trouble).

I can confirm that the excavation will go similar to waterview, as nowhereman posted, with the exception that we intend to continue pouring the core during the process. I hope we can make it work. Getting hundreds of trucks of earth off site as well as bringing concrete and rebar trucks in at the same time down a tiny alley will be no easy task. There has been discussion of using barges to get the earth off site. This process has its own drawbacks as well. At this point i dunno whats gonna happen. All i know is excavation is scheduled to begin 3/15.

I am kind of surprised that the K&E law firm did not secure the top floors of this building.

I hope they do not regret this decision in the future.

Hell they could afford it for sure.

The dirt could be dropped in the lake to make an island.

If K&E had insisted on the highrise floors, this building would not be under construction right now.

Have any of you Emporis superstars checked the real plans for this thing? Specifically, I don't think we ever resolved the issue re: their mysterious hopscotch numbering system. I fear this one might not really be a 60-story tower - I only come up with 55, including the mezzanine.

I was not a big fan of the design up to now, when I realized how much of a classic timeless skyscraper it is.

I think the facade is great, but what I haven't liked is how thick it was. If those images of the floors being leased are correct, then I think the proportions of the tower are better than the renders.

Typical Chicago skyscraper design(best in the world)...will fit in well with Waterview as they both have that modern gothic look.

Well, I can't REALLY talk about something that I've never seen before. But, based on the renderings...

I like it's location. I like the riverfront thing going on. But mainly, I just think it's honest, simple, and elegant... and white. I usually like white buildings a lot. But I don't know, I kinda said what I said because I'm glad to see a change from what this city has seen for so long. And you can't really tell how a building will turn out from the renderings; I could hate this thing once it's built, but who knows. We'll all see, right? And about the height, I actually think it's a little too tall. The middle looks stretched out really awkwardly, but you know, when a developer wants more floors what are you gonna do?
