I don't think he was.. and I'm with him.. the zoning needs to be changed so that no project will be approved on any empty lot in Denver unless its a new tallest for Denver at the time.

And... any design MUST offend the residents at Larimer Place.. because if you're not pissing them off you're really not doing anything worthwhile.

Well I'm not one to dis Seattle or anything. Seeing that Seattle is doing better on us considering some of their construction...HOWEVER

I am greatly pleased that Denver did not get the Four Seasons design that they are getting. Have you guys seen this hunk of brown junk with glass on top???

You're right... I stand corrected. How about ceasing construction on any building downtown until they revise it to >56 floors?

I heard a cute little rumor today that the Teatro Tower has been scrapped and that Bill Gates has purchased the land.

Nice rumor.

I heard that Teatro Tower is dead and Croc's has decided to build it's global headquarters at the site and is in the process of purchasing the land. It will be called the Croccenter and is going to be a 28-story tower.

I heard a rumor that Teatro is dead, but Trump and Gates are getting together to build a building that is actually under one story tall... it's just basements... and on the top of that is a parking lot. Maybe it's already there!

You might get your wish...if the US economy goes into recession then we probably won't see anything get built. LOL We might even end up with a shell for the 1400 Wewatta site. It would be reminiscent of the Columbine Building!!!

I wouldn't be too concerned. This has happened before. Remember the "asian flu" in 1997. The Dow dropped 550 points in one day in October, but the economy boomed for the next 3 years.

500 points? big deal, this comes after the longest sustained run-up without the typical 2% correction that occurs...folks dont sweat this too much...

if news like this spooked a development then nothing would get done...we would need sustained losses AND recession. also, denver is better insulated then many other markets since we have had flat and slow groth the last five years, as opposed to wild growth that can more easily bottom out and throw a market into a dive.
