You might be talking about the bridge leading into Pinawa. You'll be driving through the middle of the bush, and all of a sudden the river pops out. The bridge is fairly low, and you can see upstream and downstream quite a ways. Highway 211, I believe.

you know your geting close to thompson when you see the birch back trees

I think only the shoulder is gravel... Highway 6 is paved.

^ I think he was referring to the highway between Lynn Lake and Thompson. Part of that highway is paved and part is gravel.
